I'm gonna go with Ventura also. Either him or Savage.
Demolition Ax is also a good choice.

This is clearly Ole Anderson's voice box.

I went with Jake. His style of delivery was just different to everyone else in the WWF back then. Back then? I don't think anyone's been able to adequately follow the Jake Roberts style since he's done it. No one can do what Jake Roberts did on the microphone.

You know what Arn Anderson had the same cadence in his voice, It's just that he made you feel like he was going to kick your ass. Where as Jake the Snake would creep you out and get into your head. Batista has an awesome voice, It's just that he lacks the promo skills to really use it effectively.

Other.
Sid Vicious looked and sounded more like a wrestler to me than any person on the planet.

I wish I could sit down at a table and listen to Jake Roberts and Sam Elliott talk for an hour.

I have to go with the under dog of other here and go with Raven because he deserves props but he really isn't my number 1 that goes to savage.
When Raven was in ECW from 95 to 97 no one did a better promo to me anyways.
my top 10 as follows
1)Randy savage 2)Hulk Hogan 3)Raven 4)Jake Roberts 5)Steve Austin 6)Tully Blanchard 7)Buh Buh dudley(he got the crowd in the palm of his hand and started many a fights) 8)hawk from the road warriors was amazing in the 80s 9)The Rock 10) Ultimate Warrior (yeah it made no sense when he talked but damn I paid attention to him)

Jake Roberts psycho voice, Flair's pissed off voice, and Jericho's strained, cocky voice.

I didn't think of it at first, but Piper's voice during his initial heel run was great. He toned it down a bit later on, but I liked it when he used to take it right over the top.

I know exactly what you mean, it almost squeeked sometime. I was really surprised a few years ago, around 98 or so and some cable channel,ESPN or someone did a special on wrestling's popularity, and Piper had a brief appearance from the Nitro set, and he used that old voice that we're both referring to

His promos on Mr. T from Wrestlemania II were the most memorable thing about that event for me. Sometimes when people talk about 'Mania 2 being bad at first I think 'what are you talking about it was great!' and then I remember it was pretty lackluster aside from Piper. That's how much I liked those promos.

Randy Savage, the Macho Man is the most distinct voice in wrestling. After Mach I'd put hulkster, Ultimate warrior, Arn Anderson, Jake roberts, and of course Faarooq.quote] Arn Anderson has a normal voice. He sounds like someone's dad or something

Macho Man is Macho Man. I don't think anyone above the age of 12 would not know who you were imitating.
DiBiase, Flair and Jake were the archetypes of heels, on different levels.
Foley had pretty much one of the more versatile voices. Point out a bad promo of his to me, and I will very surprised.

Randy Savage.
Randy Savage's voice alone is a superstar. Randy Savage's voice would have been a better WWE champ than John Cena could ever be. Randy Savage's voice is better than you.

Hogan's delivery in the day was outstanding. Sure, I had no IDEA what he was saying, but it was fun to listen to. For years I was under the distinct inpression that he was a mental patient. Good point. I would say this about Warrior too. Sure, he made no sense, but DAMN. He delivered it with GUSTO. Hogan & Warrior had the two greatest promos out of anyone. They are both insane for different reasons, yet they could sell any feud, even if it caused plane crashes or the Great Flood.

Jake Roberts. He never raised his voice, he never got too excited, yet he still managed to scare the crap out of you. That's talent. Yeah, I think you're right about that. He was just sooo sick with his s***. His promos, his voice, and his complete demeanor from the time he got in the arena to the time he left was just that of a sick, evil f***. And that's exactly why he was so good at being either the creepy villain, or the face who struck fear in the hearts of his opponents.
