I was just wondering what matches (in WWE) you would consider to be the best match of a wrestler's career. And by "best" I mean in terms of technical quality, notoriety, or significance. I just did a quick list of people who came to mind, so please feel free to add wrestlers, matches, differences of opinion, etc.
Mick Foley (as himself): vs. Edge, Wrestlemania 22 Mick Foley (as Mankind): vs. Shawn Michaels, Mind Games 1996 Mick Foley (as Dude Love): vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Over the Edge 1998 Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack): vs. Triple H, Royal Rumble 2000 The Undertaker: vs. Triple H, Wrestlemania X7 Kurt Angle: vs. Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 21 Shawn Michaels: vs. Triple H, Summerslam 2002 The Rock: vs. Kurt Angle, No Way Out 2001 Edge: vs. Ric Flair, Raw 2006 Ric Flair: Royal Rumble 1992 Jeff Hardy: vs. the Undertaker, Raw 2002 Brock Lesnar: vs. the Undertaker, No Mercy 2002 Triple H: vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, No Way Out 2001 Hulk Hogan: vs. the Rock, Wrestlemania X8 Chris Jericho: vs. the Rock, No Mercy 2001 John Cena: vs. Shawn Michaels, Raw 2007 Randy Orton: vs. Mick Foley, Backlash 2004 Umaga: vs. John Cena, Royal Rumble 2007 Kane: vs. the Undertaker, Wrestlemania 14 Batista: vs. the Undertaker, Wrestlemania 23 JBL: vs. Eddie Guerrero, Judgment Day 2004 Eddie Guerrero: vs. Brock Lesnar, No Way Out 2004 Rob Van Dam: vs. John Cena, One Night Stand 2006 Rey Mysterio: vs. Kurt Angle, Summerslam 2002 “Bob Holly”: vs. the Rock, Fully Loaded 2000

Carlito:vs Johnny Nitro vs Shelton Benjamin, Vengeance 2006 CM Punk:vs John Morrison ECW 9/4/07 I'd say Carlito's, so far, would be eliminating the most people in his Elimination chamber match.

Kurt Angle vs Bob Holly at the royal rumble was the best match of both their careers. Made better because it followed the worst match ever (Steiner/HHH). I used to love this match. I still do, but it's been tainted somewhat on account of recent events.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I'd argue that the match of Hogan's career was WM6 vs the Warrior.
I know it's taboo to compliment either man, but that was a terrific match that still holds up

Hulk Hogan: vs. the Rock, Wrestlemania X8 This was a fun match. But to compare it to these: -Andre the Giant, Wrestlemania 3 (biggest match of all time) -With Mr T vs Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff, Wrestlemania (the event that made the WWF/E what it is) -Roddy Piper, The War to Settle the Score (live MTV broadcast when MTV was the coolest thing the universe had ever seen, helped make Hogan a household name) -Ultimate Warrior, Wrestlemania 6 ("passed the torch" after 5 years on top and one of his best actual matches) ...is kinda crazy.

I'd say The Rock's was at Wrestlemania X7 vs. Stone Cold.

Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker: VS. ECW Originals (ECW after Wrestlemania).
While not the match of the ECW original's career, it certainly was for every member of the New Breed.

Benoit vs Angle: Royal Rumble 2003. That match is amazing, and the standing ovation afterwards makes just that much more incredible.
WM XX is a second pick for Benoit for obvious reasons.

Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels vs. HHH at WrestleMania 20. It may not be Benoit's best match of his career, but its definitely top three in my opinion.

Actually Benoit's great matches happened long before he was in the WWE.

The Rock vs. Steve Austin, WM X-7
One of my top 3 favorite all time matches. It never gets old.
IMHO, both of their best matches.
