I don't know why Vince ever signed that agreement in 1994. It was silly. It's hard to believe WWE lawyers agreed to it. The very concept of this whole thing was idiotic to me. Only a fool would have been confused between a wrestling company and a wildlife organisation that just happened to share the same initials. The "retrospective" blurring of logos and so forth was crazy. no it happens. It's intellectual property. Imagine if some company out there called themselves Excellent Championship Wrestling or Wild Crazy Wrestling. WWe would be all over their ass about the initials. The fact that they are completely different htings ould make things more annoying. Imagine you're an organization with some noble cause trying to save the world, and some sleazy ass company ups and uses a name that'll get other people confused, or makes themselves more synonymous with your name. Really it had to do with the domain name and international marketn... if they just called it worldwrestlingfederation.com or something, or used the whole name instead of the logo on the merchandice over seas, or events, we wouldn't have this problem

The "retrospective" blurring of logos and so forth was crazy. What exactly was the agreement from 1994? Here's the full text, if anyone's interested.I've accepted "WWE" as the company's name, but part of me will always wish that the two sides will someday come to an agreement regarding the use of the initials in classic footage. A great man once told us that everyone has a price; I'm willing to bet the Fund is no different. What really irks me is that even after the wrestling company changed its name and eliminated all mention of "WWF" the Fund still went after them for damages. Now I will readily admit that this whole thing was Vince's fault. He signed a valid agreement and chose to ignore it. But this is just getting silly now. When I'm discussing something pre-name change, I'll say "WWF." No panda will stop me! If the Fund is still worried about confusion in the marketplace, I don't see why WWE couldn't put some sort of message at the beginning of DVDs that include matches from the WWF era. It could go something like this: All references to "the WWF" in this disc refer to the company formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation. This disc is not endorsed by or affiliated with the World Wide Fund for Nature Problem solved!

WWF sounds the best. WWWF has too many w's, and w's take three syllables each to say, while all other letters take up just one. WWE doesn't sound to bad, but I hate hearing "World Wrestling Entertainment."

WWE doesn't sound to bad, but I hate hearing "World Wrestling Entertainment." What I hate is referring to current titleholder Randy Orton as "World Wrestling Entertainment" champion. I'm indifferent on the guy - and I haven't watched a full episode of anything wrestling-related since about two weeks before the Benoit incident - but referring to someone as an "Entertainment champion" just sounds really, really stupid.

I agree with that, now that you mention it. I'm used to WWE now so I don't care about that and I'm sure I wouldn't think anything of hearing "WWE champion". However, you have a good point about when they spell the whole thing out.

I like saying "The E". A few years ago I would have never thought i'd be saying this, but I choose WWE over WWF.

The phrase 'World Wrestling Enertainment Champion' doesn't really sound right neither does 'THE World Wrestling Entertainment'. Change the E to F and it works though.
