No...according to Bryan Alvarez, the whole thing with the code is Jericho, and the IWC is complaining because they're not delivering him when promised, even though the WWE has never actually given a date. And I agree with Alvarez 100% on that point. ah, Bait and switching. Gotcha. You apparently don't know what that means so I'll explain it. Bait and Switching only applies when something is explicitly promised and then not delivered upon. In this case, nothing was promised, nothing was switched, and nobody (save for the people who took an interpretation of letters and numbers as gospel) was baited Alvarez has pretty much been saying what I've been saying since this past Monday Night. If you want to believe that you've cracked the code that's fine, but that doesn't mean it's absolutely 100% true.

Why would WWE delay it though? To punish people for being intelligent enough to figure out what "IT" is? Lots of people have access to the Internet, they would have figured out what the hypertext meant sooner or later. This isn't the 1980s, Vince.

Two ideas (assuming it is for Jericho which it most likely is) 1: Maybe they're still negotiating a contract with Jericho 2: Jericho is taking time to work off 2 years of ring rust so he can be ready when he comes back. And I don't think it was actually being delayed, I think whenever he shows up is when he was always supposed to.

To build up the hype instead of blowing it early. 2. EDITED: I'll buy the ring rust thing cited above.

I don't get it. People say they want longer storylines. This goes on for a month and people are crying that its been going on for too long.

Hey Mediocre, can you post a link to where that came from on PWI? I never saw that one there, so I could have just missed it. I know in Dave's audio yesterday he said the biggest reason for the delay was that Stephanie was so infuriated about the news that Jericho re-signed getting out that they're putting it off longer.

I'd rather have longer storylines if they actually progressed and went somewhere. Showing a 30-second clip with minor changes isn't progression so much as it is treading water. If the SAVE US clips started interrupting wrestler's promos/entrances, being accompanied by loud music and pyrotechnics, and getting longer, then it might be storyline progression. As it is, the announcers hardly acknowledge it after a month.

I don't really care about the Jericho debut anymore. I just watch RAW because I have nothing better to do with my life... pretty sad huh? I do want Jericho to come back though. I haven't seen many of those SaveUS videos though... like two I think. So I can't really "predict" when he'll return. I wouldn't anyways because I have better things to do.

It was actually on Rajah (yeah, yeah I know), but they sourced it at PWInsider. edit: Now that I re-read it, they "partially sourced" it as PWinsider. For all I know, it's BS. So it would probably be best to disregard it. I'm deleting it from the earlier post.

As I said in the SAVE_US thread, regardless of when it happens, all of you, even those who are saying "eh, I don't care about Jericho's return anymore" will mark the hell out. Don't even try to lie. As far as the previous post about "bait and switch", SAVE_US is so far from a bait and switch that it's comical. And actually, even if SAVE_US turned out to not be Jericho, it still wouldn't be a bait and switch! WWE has never promised us the return of Chris Jericho. They never said "Chris Jericho will return on _____". A bait and switch would be if WWE told fans to buy a PPV because it would mark the return of Chris Jericho and instead someone else appeared in his place. WWE has never, not once, outright said that Chris Jericho is SAVE_US or that he is coming back. And don't give me any lines about "implying". Fans assume it's Jericho. And of course we all know what happens when you assume. Now the fact that it is him is probably true, but WWE has never promised a return date nor have they aired a SAVE_US promo that says "Return date ______". There have been red herrings and clues, which are all part of a good viral marketing campaign. This has been nothing but a solid viral marketing campaign run by WWE. They have not failed to deliver as promised because they haven't promised anything. Bait and switch...LMAO.

Agreed, 100% WWE has never once mentioned that "Chris Jericho is returning, and he is going to return on such-and-such a date." For all we know, this might have absolutely nothing to do with Jericho. It's all speculation by the fans. What they're doing is actually very clever, as it's getting people to tune in every week to Raw to see if it is the night that 'SAVE_US.222' will be revealed. It can be seen by just looking at WrestleCrap - we were up to fifty pages in the Raw thread within a half hour - all of those people were watching Raw. Mission accomplished, as far as WWE are concerned. They've got people to tune into their show. This is one of the reasons why Raw's ratings have steadily increased over the past few weeks.

The header should read "WWE news and two paragraphs from a guy opinionatedly defending the WWE in what was supposed to be a news and notes column."
You guys can say whatever you want, because see, I've grown tired enough of the Jericho (possibly debuting before 2009) return, I'm TIRED of arguing about Jericho's return.
When he comes back I'll be happy, but I won't be as hyped as I was this Monday. Tell me I'm wrong for feeling that way all you like, but that's the end of that chapter.
