NO THIS IS NOT A RANT ABOUT AN ANGLE, GIMMICK, MATCH, OR WRITING.
Ok, with that out of the way, this is something that has annoyed me for a long time, but it just seems to be getting worse and worse as time goes on. And it has to do with the crowds at WWE shows.
Im so sick of the boos/no reactions/etc. when something is announced for "next week" or for the next PPV. It just really hit hard last night. You had the no reaction when Vince gave HBK his rematch with Orton for Survivor Series because God forbid it wasnt gonna happen right then and there for you. Hell, you know a world title wont change hands on Raw anyway, you should be happy!
Then the Austin thing. Yeah you boo the tease with Santino and everything. Then theres MEGA booing when Maria comes out and says Austin will be there next week.
Basically im sick of the overly selfish crowd recently. Everytime a match is made for the PPV, theres virtually no reaction, because its not happening right then. Imagine if that had happened the night Rock and Hogan set up their match for WrestleMania. That moment wouldnt have been anywhere near as special as it was if the crowd went silent when Rock wanted Hogan at WrestleMania, as opposed to tonight.
Its happened in the past yes but not as often really. But it seems like its just a common thing now. Make a match for the PPV.....no reaction, who cares, its not tonight. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
People should understand going in to a Raw or Smackdown/ECW taping, they are part of a televison series. Things set up for future things to happen. There not gonna throw everything they've got at you on that night. If your at a PPV and they make a match for tv that week, then feel free to give it a no reaction. Your at a PPV, you should expect everything then. But not at a tv show taping.
Sorry for the rant, most of you may not even be bothered by it, or may just think im completley wrong. I dont know why, but it just bothers the hell out of me for some reason.

They just don't want to be teased. I'd hate to be told I'm not getting something someone else is.

I think the no reaction thing is WWE's fault, they don't make their match announcements exciting and we know exactly what they are going to announce before they start speaking.

Its way more then just Philly.
Plus, out of the 15,000 or whatever fans there last night, its hard for me to believe that none of them have ever seen Steve Austin live before.
You've seen him live. So, you'll see him on tv next week instead of live again.
MAN UP! and deal with it!

This is a guy who holds all the elves back because they aren't "big enough" but they are the ones doing all the work and Santa comes along and takes all the glory. smurf him.

Great thread idea, since this has been bothering me for awhile now too. I can't really blame them most of the time, since the last thing you want to hear at a live event is "next week" because you're there now, and you just want to see it all, you know?

Often the live audience DOES get to see something big and crowd pleasing.
But after the show goes off-air.
The whole "next week" thing is for the television audience.

I agree with the fans. Austin is gonna be somewhere else next week, HBK/Orton is on the PPV....they get Cade vs. London!!

This is a great thread, I was thinking about this myself the idea. The crowds lately have sucked, and usually they make the matches seem bad. I bet if last Monday's crowd was red hot, it would have been a much more enjoyable RAW.
Back on topic, I certainly agree. You have Santino out there cutting a fantastic promo to what? Silence? Its not like he's not over, because that's clearly not the case. Triple H and Umaga went at it, and I heard absolutely nothing untill Shawn came out.
I agree with tyfo on this one largely. Supremely valid point at least on my end.

Well it's the same setup after every 40 dollar PPV -One guy comes out, wants to exercise his rematch clause, and they tease having the match that night(and sometimes do) and then the GM or Vince himself comes out, acts like a dick and informs everyone they have to pay another 40 dollars to see the rematch. f*** that. I think things worked just fine when they announced a couple matches every week in the control center, rather than come out to the ring

I think it's the microphones that WWE uses too. When HBK came back, there was little noise. They need to turn the mics up.
I'd be kinda mad too because you bought a ticket to the show which can get expensive then they announce a match that'll take place on PPV which is another $40. No PPV is worth $40.

If that isnt workrate, I dont know what is. Santa Clause only works one f***ing night a year! I can't blame the fans for being upset. I wouldn't like it either if they teased an Austin return but announced that he will come next week on Raw. It's another thing to announce things for a PPV.

It's another thing to announce things for a PPV. Reminds me of when the audience would humorously moan when David Letterman used to announce the guests for the next show-it was funny though

It' s unfortunately becoming a very common reaction with wrestling fans as a whole. Peopl get upset because the WWE doesn' t give them what they never said they' d give them in the first place.
Just look in this forum, after No Mercy, people went all like "OMG we' ve been ripped off Jericho didn' t show up !!" Hey guys, if you remember, the WWE never said Jericho would come back at No Mercy. They didn' t even aknowledge the SAVE_US.222 videos !
Seriously, I hate the WWE because they didn' t give me a blowjob although I want one.
