The first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was "Being Maria Kanellis." Except that instead of living in her head and seeing what she sees (ala Being John Malkovich), a lot of the people in this forum would be in her chestal area giggling like madmen and making motorboat sounds. Hmm, wouldn't be bad being Maria, or actually C.M. Punk for that matter-well not so much anymore

I'm not sure why they would want to do that, since at least people are talking about it. Certainly better that people watch these promos and come to the wrong conclusions, rather than watching something else on TV while WWE is on. WWE's attitude towards internet fans has always been silly IMO. It's not just internet fans who thought that Jericho was going to appear this evening. At Cyber Sunday people were loduly chanting his name and they did the same at RAW. It's said that the "IWC" represent only a relatively small group of WWE's fanbase, but I'm starting to wonder how true that actually is. I have been wondering that myself, I mean just about everybody explores youtube, and the WWE had a whole PPV where they encouraged fans to use the internet. So it's not like its a wild thought, to believe the "smarky" percentage of fans is higher than peeps want to believe. agreed

Think, all the signs point to it. Not that the IWC are dumb brunette chicks with great butts, but that the IWC (most of it, that is) will believe a flimsy story for no reason. Take, for example, this "Save_Us.222" thing. For WEEKS, perhaps MONTHS I've seen people go "He's [Jericho] Definitely coming back tonight." Raw comes and goes, no Jericho. No NOTHING. Just another Save_Us Promo. Cut to tonight, Santino's promo, with Maria, saying that Stone Cold will come back, and Santino brushing it off, as if Maria is just a rumormonger who will believe almsot anything without any doubt put forward, just like the Internet to this Save_Us crap. I believe it was Raven who said that smarks, while they think they're smart, because they know a few insider terms and how to use them, that they can't be tricked or worked, as it were, yet these people are some of the easiest tricked. (Just paraphrasing.) See, the IWC may not believe in the power of Kayfabe, but just how easy is it to take the Internet for a ride? Again, let's use Save_Us as an example. Ever since they started airing, people broke the codes down, thinking they were so smart, they CRACKED the code, and they passed along this information. First, it was No Mercy (?) that everyone was buzzing about, because JERICHO of all people was coming back! That PPV came and went, and no Jericho. Week after week after that, people were saying the same thing. So I ask, is Maria, and her easily fooled nature a metaphor for the IWC as a whole, or is it yet another conveniently placed series of coincidences? Interesting theory. Are you sure you are from Delta? Sounds something that a Surrey boy would come up with. ;D

I think the interesting thing about the IWC is that they (or we) grow every year, regardless of whether or not wrestling is popular. Think about it, the IWC now is far bigger than it was during the boom period. This is probably because of the increase of communication technology. If we keep getting bigger, and wrestling continues getting less popular, the IWC will have a much bigger pull in the future. One wonders what the wrestling business would be like if the IWC even made up half of the viewing audience. Think about that: An arena where half of the fans are smarks.

If I owned a wrestling company, I'd "leak" things constantly. I believe WWE and TNA are already doing that. Probably ROH, too.

I believe it's just the whole 29 thing. It was an intentional tease for people paying attention, and I love the attitude that "we shouldn't have expected anything" I've been seeing so much of around here.

It was more than reasonable to guess that something at least would happen on "X29" just as it is with "Launch 19".

I now firmly believe that unlike the Millennium Countdown which led to a fixed debut, these videos are the making for a less specific debut.

Think about that: An arena where half of the fans are smarks. Using your logic, i'll be lead to belive that the arena would be 1/2 empty and thouse who left are bitching about WWE and sucking ROH's dong.

The problem is that Vince thinks that he can control everything including what we think, what we like, and our abiltiy to figure out things for ourselves. Look at how Steph is going crazy because we figured out that Jericho is coming back. She is going on in a fit of rage because fans (not just the IWC) have figured out the viral campaign and now she and Vince want to get revenge on us for figuring out their brilliant plans before they wanted us to and are now holding back Jericho's return out of spite. And I agree with a previous post when it said, we may not know everything, but Vince shouldn't underestimate us either. The internet is growing too fast for Vince to do anything about us knowing things that are happening within the sport of Wrestling and fans are far smarter than we used to be.
