First, let me say that there's no news or notes regarding our favorite wrestling god, but this is just my mere speculation on the matter.
That being said, does anyone believe that a return to the ring for JBL is imminent? For the past couple of weeks, JBL has been conducting "interviews" on SmackDown! where he has received numerous signature moves from the wrestlers he interviewed. (Rey, Batista, Undertaker, and Stone Cold recently).
Now if his back was as screwed up as it was, you think he'd take all of those moves within weeks of each other? I don't.
Never mind that the whole Save_US.222 could be swerved into JBL at the last second, but I have a feeling our champion is returning to the ring.
Thoughts?

Even though I think he's probably the best commentator in many years, I'd like to see him get back into the ring.
He's one of those wrestlers who can put any feud over, simply due to his charisma.

SmackDown needs "new blood" and a fresh "in-ring" face.
JBL's return to the ring would not be a bad idea. He can put anyone over.

JBL coming back would be awesome! Even though he is the best commentator since The Body or Heenan it'll be okay just put Cole with Mick Foley and that would still rule.

I'm sure JBL can still go and Smackdown! does need a deeper roster. If they used him for limited things, I could see it being very helpful. At any rate, if they don't use him in the ring, they could use him as a GM (which would be awesome) or in some other storyline function.

Make him a manager who wrestles on occasion, and commentates (ala Heenan, but better in ring).

sorry but Im going to be shelfish and say please stay put JBL. He is 10 times better commentating then in the ring , he really makes SD very watchable. Also,Micheal Cole needs all the help he can get!

I agree. None of us knows how bad the guy's hurt, and we need him on commentary.

Also,Micheal Cole needs all the help he can get! He could do both, use him kinda like they use King. JBL acting all smug after he won or denying his losses/ making outrageous claims about how he lost, would be gold.

I think people are seeing JBL's ring work through rose tinted glasses. He was pretty bad. Any good match he had he was carried to.
He should stick to commentating, since that is what he's best at.
Also, on the subject of JBL his campaign advert at cyber sunday was hilarious.

I hope not....He's prolly at his all time career high right now in terms of fans wanting to see him.Once he steps back into the ring and the fans remember he sucks wrestling wise, he will not be as popular or successful as he currently is.
Leave him be the way he is. The current version of JBL has a lot to do with the slow(but steady) rise of smackdown in the ratings as well as the product.

The only problem they ever had with JBL on commentary was that he was possibly too good. I remember a while back told him to tone it down because he was upstaging everyone else.

I agree with giving him a Lawler type of ring schedule.
JBL talks smack until someone demands he do something in the ring about it.

I wonder how a guy who wears Depends on a regular basis due to his back condition somehow return to the ring. I'm not really against it, but his injuries and complications are really stretching it.

Yeah pretty much. He's been made into a bigger deal thanks to the commentary, the interviews made me reallise just how great JBL is on the mic, and I just really wanted to see him boot Rey and give him the CFH just because he can. Really JBL is one of my favorite wrestlers been so since his Justin Hawk Bradshaw days. I'm sorry I mark for texans hell bent on beating the crap out of you. If he was to get into the ring again, He'd pretty much be the biggest heel in WWE and probably the best. in-ring skills don't matter when the crowd invest their interest into the match. Hell a fued with CM Punk would be glorious

I agree. JBL is one of my favorites as well. I'm a very big fan of his brawler type matches, and I think a return now would be awesome.

I don't think he is coming back any time soon. Hasn't he just got a new deal with a TV station to be a regular contributor to one of their business shows? I think that takes 4 days a week up from him, so house shows would be almost out of the question. Maybe they'd use him just for TV tapings, but I doubt it.
I think he is simply conducting more interviews lately to play the heel in some of the feuds. When we had the 3 way Rey/Dave/Khali thing going on, Khali couldn't talk (meaningfuly) so a lot of the build up would have just been face vs face, and apathy would build as fans wouldn't mind who came out on top. Sticking JBL in there allows the fans to get behind both Rey and Batista, while giving them someone to hate as well, which then puts the face over more. Same with Taker and Batista, they are both faces so can't really have too much one on one promo's against each other, especially since neither are Rock/Jericho characters on the mic, so there isn't scope for humour. I think when Edge is back, JBL will be doing less and less in ring promo work as Edge will be there to the main event heel again.
