It didn't hurt my feelings really.... I was just kinda surprised. Basically just surprised about it. Some guys and steroids are obvious, but there are some guys you just don't want to be associated with it, you know?

I was a huge Kennedy fan, then the steroid thing happened... and I was just kinda surprised. I still like him a lot, but not as much as I used to. Now Santino? Used to dislike the guy, but the Dating Game changed all that. I look forward to him every week now. I'm not sure if he's surpassed Kennedy in the IWC, but he's definitely surpassed Kennedy IMO. His wrestling skills ain't really good but goddammit do I mark for him when he has a mic in his hand and produces gold. Give this guy his own little talk show thingy that every heel has . His wrestling was great in OVW under his Russian shooter/MMA gimmick. Like a Russian Taz |

Santino couldn't wrestle to save him self, Kennedy can play the Jobber / heel all he likes until he builds a good fued which is awesome. All Santino is saying is what all you internet peeps want the "dirt" and it's all written to script the only thing i ever liked Santino doing was being Buried by umaga tbh Kennedy > santino.

I consider Kennedy to be someone that has the potential but I really don't see how people are calling him the next Austin or Rock. The guy has yet to deliver a great promo, his promo's range from good to decent but none of those are the ones you'd remember 2-3 years from now. He's a good worker but then again he hasn't had that one match that would stand out for me.
Santino's gimmick allows him to make me laugh. His delivery is improving every week and they're writing some good stuff for him, yet to see anything substantial as far as in-ring work goes but he's doing a good job on the mic.
As of now, for me personally, I look forward to watching a Santino segment more than a Kennedy one.

Kennedy is as old school as they get. Mic skills are above average, and he knows how to work a crowd such that he maintains his heel heat. His ring skills aren't about his moveset or anything, and that's how heels should be. Once the babyface gets past his initial offense in the match, the wrestling is over. The heel should (almost) never outwrestle the face. The heel should cut him off, work him over, pick a body part, and wear him down. Kennedy does that to perfection. Sure, he hasn't had The Match yet - but he has plenty of time. And even if he never reaches that Owen Hart level (he COULD outwrestle anyone, but as a heel he knew when and where to stop), he can still be in the Greg Valentine worker's worker/never a 'bad' match/permamidcard level.
I don't have cable and have only seen Marella maybe 10 times, so I can only say that I prefer the Alexiev vignette to the guido schtick, but he's ok. Green as hell, but still decent.

I may be drawing a very long bow here but I see similarities between The Rock & Santino, debuted as faces, but both were booed & hated. Turned heel, given the mic to run with & both produced gold & got over because of it.

As for his in ring ability, I don't think Santino has yet to display what he can do in the ring honestly. When he was in OVW, he was a pretty good wrestler. But his style of wrestling then didn't fit his character when he first came in, and doesn't fit it now. Before he was this Russian shoot fighter, and was a submission specialist. Now, that would look kinda funny with him doing all that.
One thing I'm shocked about though is how Santino can say what he's saying and keep a straight face. I guess he takes lessons from watching The Bret Hart.

What a joke. I'm sorry, but if you can honestly be entertained by this crap (that makes Cena's toilet humor seem hilarious) then it sure doesn't take much to make you happy.
It seems like the cheaper the character...the more the internet fans just drool over him or her.

Everyone hated him as a face because he was booked ATROCIOUSLY and had zero personality other than "the Italian guy who got helped by Lashley and wins with roll-ups". Those of us who weren't calling for his head on a pike said repeatedly that he'd probably work better as a heel. Since turning heel, he's more than exceeded expectations and has been absolute gold when it comes to developing a personality. |

He was a Rocky Maivia type of wrestler, where he won the belt based on a fluke. The office decided to make him look more and more pathetic as a babyface, and eventually, it went well as a heel. What's great about the character is the theory of showing your ass as a heel. It's when a heel does something where you can't like him. I doubt anybody here would cheer for Santino at a show because he doesn't do anything to make people cheer him. Everything he says is embarassing, and makes him look like an idiot. And that's where the love comes in. I think that's why they're building the thing with Steve Austin, because the moment Austin comes out and beats the crap out of Santino, in the immortal words of Gorilla Monsoon, the place will go bananas. |

I don't really care what the Flavors of the Month are on the IWC, I still like Kennedy, even though he made a complete fool of himself regarding the steroid scandal. I have not really enjoyed Santino as much as others seem to. I just don't find him all that funny, and his wrestling hasn't been even good so far
