Has nothing to do with being PC it has to do with you comparing a wrestling angle to a disaster where people were killed.
There were better more apt comparisons to be made.

If The Great Khali would have done a crotch chop I would have probably blown my brains out, cause it couldn't have possibly ever gotten better than that. QFT. I died a little inside when Khali brainchopped Coach (talk about an exercise in futility...) and left. I wanted the crotch chopping Khali so bad. I probably would've paid for some web space so I could sig it here and on every other forum I post on. DX Khali = Gold Platinum. First, calling the DX segment the best segment of the night would be like calling the people on their roofs the best part of Katrina (in other words, nothing was good). This incarnation of DX feels like a bad impersonation of DX. They're mailing it in so painfully, all that's missing is a stamp. If you think this "wacky one-liner" version of DX is good, I encourage you to go back 8 years and look at THAT DX. Sans greasy fat writer, sans "God loving Shawn", and WITH some elements that made it work, like X-Pac and Chyna as foils, and the New Age Outlaws actually fitting in somewhere.. The reason I couldn't watch DX tonight is the same reason I can't watch "Dancing With The Stars." Ponder that. Shockingly enough, it's possible for an angle to work without an anorexic annoyance or a steroid abusing she-male. Just because the IWC hates Trips doesn't meant the new DX is bad. The marks love it, it sells tons of merchandise, and it's great comedy skits for anyone who doesn't stick their nose up at Trips' "penis jokes" then call Santino talking about what he used to beat off to "comedy gold." In fact its only real failing is that due to the brand split, they can't provide them with a good stream of feuds. They'd need a team of 2 main eventers to feud with all the time and a company split 2 ways can't handle that, let alone this idiotic triple brand split we have going right now. |

At Survivor Series it will be Triple H, The Hardyz, Rey Mysterio & kane vs Umaga, Finlay, Mr. Kennedy, MVP & Big Daddy V Stone Cold drowned Santino & Maria with beer At Survivor Series, DX will explode! As honorary members The Great Khali and Hornswoggle square off one on one. Big Dick Johnson started dancing as the ring crew cleaned up the ring. Triple H then brought two of the Girls Next Door in to dance. Cody Rhodes pinned Trevor Murdoch. As BarryHorowitz4Ever said "Mickie looked so darn cute" when she wished Murdoch luck before the match. Super Crazy & Jim Duggan beat the World's Greatest tag Team. Duggan never tagged in and this was our punishment for the "When was the last time Super Crazy wrestled on Raw" thread. New D-X was good comedy. But maybe 17 minutes of comedy are a bit on the long side...
The "smarky" bits (katie vick, writers on strike, etc) were fine, but having Superstars goint on and off kayfabe is becoming a bad habit IMO.
It's all nice until the "filler" becomes the show and the actual show (wrestling and storylines) become the filler...

New D-X was good comedy. But maybe 17 minutes of comedy are a bit on the long side... The "smarky" bits (katie vick, writers on strike, etc) were fine, but having Superstars goint on and off kayfabe is becoming a bad habit IMO. It's all nice until the "filler" becomes the show and the actual show (wrestling and storylines) become the filler... I enjoyed the comedy bits too, but coming from a stable that had it's heyday in the 90's I was just like, "eh?" It was funny to me because I know this forum had a discussion on if the writer's strike affected WWE and some of the stuff between trips and HBK mirrored some of our comments. |
