well if you dont beleive HBK has a chance of winning the title...then why would you order the PPV? This is what happens when you have a heel champion. Who in their right mind doesn't think that Shawn Michaels has a chance at winning the title. The guy has won 99.9% of his matches in the last 5 years. On the flip side: If you know Shawn Michaels can knock out Randy Orton every single night with out any problem whatsoever...... why would you order the PPV? I don't think Orton should be beating Shawn leading up to the PPV match either. But has he won even one match since he won the title? At least have him beat someone else so that they both look strong. But this discussion always comes up when Shawn is feuding with the champ. And only when it's Shawn feuding with the champ. I think it speaks for itself.

I think it speaks for itself. I think HBK doesnt have a chance of winning the title at SS. I'd be shocked. I hope he does...but I have no reason to think the WWE would make the title change hands. Its not me they are trying to convince he has a chance...its the kids, and non smarks who see HBK super kick him every week and think that there is no way he can loose. Then Orton walks away with the win, but HBK still looks good. Its pretty much how things always work, even if the champ is a face. Look at Cena and Orton before Cena's injury. Same thing. They got me with that one to...I really thought Orton was going to win the title at Summer Slam. Now if you mean Orton looks like a punk for loosing all the time, then thats another story. I dont think hes had too many singles matches on RAW since winning the title though.

Suppose HBK won, who on earth would he feud with? RAW has no heels.

Suppose HBK won, who on earth would he feud with? RAW has no heels. Which is why Orton won't lose. BUT HBK gets to kick him in the jaw frequently. And don't anybody say Kennedy because no one wants to see HBK reinjured.

Umm... isn't "set up title match with hot face vs. heel champion, make it clear face CAN take title" an age old receipe for "marks who hate heel champion buy PPV hoping to see him drop title?"
And where were you guys complaining about this when Khali was raping Cena week after week and no selling all his offense on everything that wasn't a PPV?

Cause the heel is supposed to cheat and use dirty tricks every week to beat the babyface and then screw them at the PPV. This is a new concept and it scares some of us.

Can I just ask..why are people bothered about how the WWE book their own champion? They know exactly what they are doing, they know the consequences and benefits of every booking decision they make, and if they want Orton to job, they will have a reasoning behind it. It's not for us to worry about if he looks strong or not, that's their job.

Not that it matters anyway... Orton's got nothing going for him other than the strap right now. Plus, he's just a transitional champ (at least that's what it seems like), someone better will have the title soon, barring Lashley. Really, any of the other upper card talent on Raw would be better than him in his position.

Ortons a heel, heels champs get their asses kicked so you want them to lose at the PPV.

Plus, at the time, we all hated Cena fervently. Seeing Khali kill him is, I think, when the pseudo-Snitskyish Khali love began.

I'm bothered by it because he's my favorite wrestler. I like it when my favorite wrestler is booked to look strong. I don't like it when my favorite wrestler is booked to look weak. Is that really an alien concept?

How do I put it lightly
Mess up a hotel room and be a douche...get made to look like the most ineffective champion of all time. Serves him right.
Also if the crowd didn't go "..." when he showed up

I still don't see how trashing a hotel room is such a big unpardonable sin but whatever.
Anyways I think they're just trying to build the whole "Michaels wants to end his career" thing up. I think I see what they're doing but who knows.

What would be kind of cool is if Orton is booked to beat HBK at Survivor Series but cleanly, in a way that indicates that Orton wins when it counts.

Completely different. Cena was the champ. Yes, it's completely different, because Orton isn't the champ.
