I think her last appearance was SummerSlam when she watched Mae Young dry-hump Vince.
Anyway, I think we'll have a straight, clean, non-gimmick Beth Vs Mickie for the title on Monday in tribute, hopefully.

Beth vs Mickie would be nice.
This sucks, she had a long life but you just don't expect these things

Well, no disrespect to Sherri...but I think Moolah was a little more important in the history of WWE. That shouldn't matter, Sherri worked for the company as well and was a big part of it when she was in her prime. Anyone who has worked for the company and passed should get equal treatment. No disrespect to Sherri (IMO, she was probably in the top 3 in terms of most important women ever in ladies' wrestling), but Moolah's contribution to the business FAR, FAR eclipses anything Sherri has ever done. Sherri was one of the most influential women ever in the business, don't get me wrong, but her accomplishments are simply dwarfed by Moolah's. Further, I agree with a lot of people who think that Sherri didn't get enough. I'd hate to see Moolah get a similarly mediocre sendoff. She deserves better. I'm not expecting a 2 hour tribute show. I don't think anyone is. I do, however, hope that she gets more than the standard 20 second blurb. Again, a video package and honorary match between two accomplished wrestlers would be perfect, and would probably only take up about 15 minutes of time.

Wow... Honestly, I never expected Moolah to die... I know she was old... I know, for being a wrestler, she was due, but she seemed like she'd live forever...
RIP

That shouldn't matter, Sherri worked for the company as well and was a big part of it when she was in her prime. Anyone who has worked for the company and passed should get equal treatment. I understand having bigger things like what they did for Eddie and Chris, when people are on the main roster up and die. I, too, think that would be great...especially these days, when it seems at times they struggle to put on a decent 2 hour show. You would think they could spare a few minutes. But you have to look at the reality of the situation...that's just not how WWE does business. Bigger names preceded Sherri in death, and got no more than she did. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I don't see why certain people get so flustered over these things. I loved Sherri as a performer, too, but I wasn't expecting any kind of tribute beyond what they did...so I don't understand why so many people were so shocked by the way it was handled. It would've went down that way despite the McMahon death angle.

Longest reigning Champion in the history of the sport.
Back in the 80's I used to go to all the house shows at the Brendan Byrne Arena (and quite a few at MSG). I used to hit the tunnel before and after the show. The tunnel was the entrance to the arena that the wrestlers came in. Moolah always had time to stop and sign. She was friendly in a heelish way and could bust chops with the best of them.
When she finally had to go inside, she'd say something like "Don't forget to Boo me I'm the bad guy"
I always liked her
Fair passage Moolah you'll be remembered

Man, after seeing those two get up to so many antics over the years, I never thought one of them would ever actually die.
Rest in peace, Moolah, an absolute legend of the sport.

I must admit, despite her age I'm very very surprised at this. She seemed like she was just going to live on and on, and she'd still be around even when we're old aged. She was undoubtedly the best women's wrestler WWE has ever had, possibly in wrestling fullstop, and really helped make the women's division seem credible. Sadly that credibiity was shattered circa/post Attitude Era.
I personally didn't particularly enjoy many of her backstage vignettes near the end, as they were repetitive and sometimes ill-timed, but she seemed to enjoy them, and some people did, so I don't have much of a problem with it. RIP Moolah, you'll be missed by many.
Geeze, look at the list of wrestlers who've died this year, disregarding the circumstances:
Bam Bam Bigelow Mike Awesome Crush Arnold Skaaland Bad News Brown Sherri Martel Woman Benoit Moolah
And I know I'm missing a few. This year's been a pretty rough year for wrestling.

Damn this just gave me chills.
I always thought of her as the lovable old comedic prop... I was never familiar with her in ring wrestling.
I wonder how Mae is doing about this.
RIP girly you deserve the rest.
Goodbye to a legend.

I doubt it'll happen, but I wonder if we'll get some kind of Mae Young hosted(couldn't think of a better word) tribute for a segment on Raw or something.

This makes me sad. RIP Moolah, you truly were a legend. My thoughts and prayers go to your family. 2007 has not been a good year for wrestling at all. Hopefully 2008 will be better, I just don't want to see it get worse.

I understand having bigger things like what they did for Eddie and Chris, when people are on the main roster up and die. Yes, but Moolah was working on screen as of just three months ago. Sherri hadn't worked for WWE for about 15 years. Moolah also had a close relationship with the McMahons and Sherri didn't. Sherri had a drug related death which was compounded by two things: Vinces "fake" death, and then the insuing Benoit murders. It is easy to see why Sherri barely got mentioned.

Unfortunately, I don't think WWE will do an extended tribute to Moolah next week. Women's wrestling isn't highly though of in WWE, and I doubt that they'll do a tribute to someone who was basically comic relief to most of today's fans.
Besides, they need all the airtime next week for Austin and DX segments.
