Yes, the whole glowstick thing is lame. Really lame. However, a few weeks ago I remember watching RAW and seeing Jeff Hardy throwing some into the crowd. It was a nice friendly nod to the good old days of Poffo's frisbees and even a little bit of Bret Hart's [somewhat gay] glasses. Then, last week I noticed that Jeff wasnt doing this anymore. Hmmm. A bit odd.
Then last night HHH was throwing out lightsticks to the crowd.
Am I reading into this too much?

As I understand it, the Undertaker used to do the same thing when he came to the ring.
Throwing shovels into the audience?

does everything in wrestling have to have a purpose? why dont you ask why the referee never sees anything illegal when a heel does it but always when a face does? or questions like that.. okay heres the real story.. when HHH was a kid glowsticks were a very hard thing to get.. that was all he ever really wanted for christmas and he never got it... his parents were very had workers and they made very little cash.. over years and years HHH finally saved up enough pennies to buy some glowsticks and now he wants to share the pleasure of having your own glowstick by throwing them out in the audience.. what a great guy that HHH is

WWE has a werehouse full of unsold DX glowsticks, so they're giving them out for free. I'm starting to think that's why they brought DX back for one night only, since nothing else really came of it story-wise for Mr. McMahon. |
