i am a bit biased about santino for a few reasons.

they paired him with maria, who i already could not stand. i am just really not a fan of the idiot gimmick she has, i don't find it cute it just bugs me. she is attractive however.

while he may have been good in ovw, i have yet to really get into santino's in ring work which is primarily why i watch wrestling.

he is good on the mic, but we must keep in mind the scripted promos of the wwe. if somebody is writing all of that stuff for him then, he is just very good at delivery. i think their are many on the roster who are just as good at delivery and could do just as good a job while putting on more interesting matches. people talk about how he gets a great reaction from the audience, but daivari always did as well and they couldn't seem to find anything for him to do besides rarely job.

add all of those together and i am pretty apathetic towards the guy. i have seen a very little bit of his ovw work and he seemed to work well in his old style. hopefully he is just getting used to wrestling a different style of match and is just having a rough start. if he really found his form with his new style he would be much more interesting to me.

I think people just find him funny and entertaining and a nice change from the Es typical humor, (Cena's poop jokes, most of new dx stuff) which just leaves one with the feeling of being too old for this stuff.

It seems to me Santino is following in the footsteps of the Rock. Face IC champ that nobody likes and wonders why he has the belt... HEEL TURN.... He starts getting reactions from the crowd.

And he also takes the Stunner like The Rock.

Some people take wrestling too seriously to appreciate any humor in wrestling. This isn't a shot at anyone, just a general statement. That's why characters like Santino and Black Machismo will always have their detractors. I for one love it, and watch wrestling to be entertained. However every week on Raw there are several bad attempts at humor(Hornswaggle and poop joke, I'm looking at you), but that's a whole other topic.

It just shows that WWE needs to give the mic to other wrestlers besides the maineventers. Snitsky, Kendrick and others have great mic stills and everyone forgets that.
