2000 gets my vote:- Triangle Ladder match- STILL better than the later TLC matches IMO. Benoit vs. Jericho vs. Angle Paul Bearer doing the DX crotch chop to Pete Rose!! The awesomeness that was the Hardcore battle royal- "Here is the new Hardcore champion, Funaki!!" = best comedy mark out moment ever! Trips becoming the first heel to walk out of Mania with the title- if you say that you didn't think The Rock had the title in the bag, you're a liar. Wow, thanks for questioning the credibility of marks who were absolutely sure that Foley was going get the ultimate going away gift of a world title and having the chance to retire with it.

Now THAT's what WWE needs to do again: have a heel win the main event. I still remember exploding in my mark days when Triple H won; it really was that awesome (if negative) a finish.

Why are you guys getting so wet off of X-Seven? It was good but I didn't think it was THAT great. My vote goes to III, it holds a very special place in my heart. X was pretty good too.

21. MITB, Kurt/Shawn, UT/Orton, Motorhead playing HHH to the ring and remembering the lyrics, Eddie/Rey opener, Hollywood backdrop, the year 2005, Batista's and Cena's first world title win. its Wrestlemania 21

Even to this day, the mere mention of "Wrestlemania" makes me think of Wrestlemania III. It was basically the defining wrestling event of my childhood. Wrestlemania X-Seven was damn good, but to me Wrestlemania III will always be the definitive Wrestlemania.

My top five...
1: X-Seven - five matches over 4 stars; TLC, Angle/Benoit, Vince/Shane, Taker/HHH and Austin/Rock 2: XX - the greatest three way in history, and the ending with Benoit and Guerrero, would have been #1 before the murders 3: III - Savage/Steamboat, the big crowd and the pinnacle that was Hogan/Andre 4: VIII - the first Mania I ever watched, included Bret/Piper and Flair/Savage, both underrated classics 5: 22 - the sweet Edge/Foley table spot, the fans killing Cena, Mickie stealing the show

WM3 gets my vote. The greatest match of all time and the biggest match of all time on the same card. WM10 is a close second and WM17 in third. In the recent era there is nothing that can come anywhere near 17. It was an amazing show, but for some reason I just prefer 3.

And in a landslide:
Wrestlemania 17.
I mean, c'mon... Austin/Rock, Triple H/Undertaker, TLC II, Benoit/Angle... all 4 stars or higher. Not to mention solid 3 star matches in Shane/Vince, Regal/Y2J, and Raven/Kane/Show. The only stinker on the show was Chyna vs. Ivory.
Behind it, I'd go with Wrestlemania 10. It had two 5 star matches, Owen/Bret and Razor/Shawn, and a good ending with Bret winning and all the faces coming out to celebrate.
Batlling it out for third place, IMO, is Wreslemania III and Wrestlemania XX. Followed by Wrestlemania VIII.

I feel like seven has a palce in my hart because it was my first mania i ever saw! I loved the savage/warrior match, 18 is good for the rock hogan and angle/kane matches but the best is still 17 followed closely behind 10 if for no other reason than for the amazingness that was the preshow song by the men on a mission.
We got stars, galor, we got stars gala, you're gonna see a show liek never before, the quebeckers got the titles but we will win because we're all goign to rock wrestlemania 10!
