The fact that it was HHH who used all that to get at Kane makes it that much more funnier.

Thats why I say Trips is the best. He can make me laugh at any time. THAT PROMO WAS THE WHOLE SHOW.

Makes me long for a Gimmick Battle Royal, ala WM17, but also with newer crappers like a resurrected Katie Vick, an undead Al Wilson, and Zombie. Thank you sir! I remember being overly excited for the Gimmick Battle Royal. Just for the fact that I was going to get to see THE GOON and DUKE THE DUMPSTER back on TV, at the same time, at WRESTLEMANIA no less! If i remember right the crowd was hella into Doink the Clown, to the point that they booed when he got eliminated. ~Kyle

The only thing that would've made that better was if Kane was there.
HHH: "Yea. Kane having sex with a dead woman. That's such a stupid angle. Ain't that right big man?"
Kane: (looking nervously side to side) "...yyyyyyyyea......angle......"

This segment was truly brilliant. The DX envy, the breaking of the fourth wall, the breaking of kayfabe, the humor, the incessant interruption, the jab at Hollywood...
What it was was an impressive postmodern treatment of professional wrestling. As a huge fan of professional wrestling, and a true postmodernist, let me just say that this was about as good a promo as I have seen in many, many years.
Raven/Heyman ECW stunts and upstart nWo antics a la Bischoff were the last really good postmodern moments in wrestling. I would hereby like to add this quality DX segment (and this is the only time I have marked for DX since the original, original).

It was like a Wrestlecrap induction during the WWE. I always enjoy it when kayfabe is broken in a clever way. It was part of what was fun about the attitude era.
