SCSA got as close to a Conway pop as he'll ever get this past week on RAW. its been like that for a while now with austin. You guys obviously missed the pop when he came back in Pheonix when he was announced as the special ref for WM.

It's too bad. He's a great heel, but the fans couldn't understand it. Probably and he turned on Dreamer in a WWE arena, the fans weren't exactly giving him huge pops, so it wasn't that big of a deal either. Also, I found it hard to buy Foley as a heel since becoming a face as Mankind in 99. From what I heard, he was a great heel early in his career (as Cactus Jack). Ever since he became a lovable goofball(even though that got over massively), he dosen't have it in him to be a serious heel anymore) Anyway, Eugene's heel turn didn't wow anybody.

He has it in him, but it's like Ric Flair. It's really hard to make the fans lose love for them. Look up any of his heel promos. Trust me, a real treat.

Mike Knox's entire WWE run. Yup. I'm thinking it should be renamed the "Mike Knox Pop." Conway was over like rover compared to Knox.

any austin pop is a good pop no matter what
anyone that hates austin is just a little kid that didnt grow up in the era, or someone that didnt have their favorites over because he was on top of the game.
his stuff was the truth for about 5 years, and when he comes back its still entertainment. if he was pushed as the main eventer fans would buy into it and the guy is always going to be a hot commidity.
the only hate that exists for him is net hate, and everytime ive seen him live hes blown the place out of the water.

I've seen lots of Cactus Jack stuff when he was a heel in WCW, but it just seems that after turning into super babyface Mankind, it's hard for the WWE fans to buy him as a heel.

I have not seen the Raw Santino/Austin segment but I am guessing it was still a big pop - it just wasn't 1999 anymore and it wasn't the Rock and Vince McMahon getting hosed down. To compare it to that pop I do not think is keeping the segment in its context, although I really should reserve judgement until I see the segment from Monday's show.
Austin's pop at Summerslam this year I seem to remember being pretty huge as well just to add to the list of recent appearances. I think Austin will always get a big reaction, just not the attitude era level. That is unless he decides to get back in the ring - although (even though I would love to see it in theory) I think it would be ill advised.
Will think of an answer for the actual question in the thread now and get back to you!

I know it's not WWE, but Goldberg when he was heel in WCW didn't get a good reaction.

Pretty big Conway pop a couple of weeks ago on Raw during the final of the Diva Search when Todd Grisham told the crowed 'Who Do You Think Is Gonna Win!?'. Greatest no sell ever

I would say Foley is always getting the Conway Pop now days. This is sad becasue by making him comic fodder in the end of his career they truely destroyed any legacy he could have left behind. From early Catus to after HIAC Mankind the guy was one of the best heels I've seen. Then he became funny to extend his career(which I get) and to me I have a hard time remembering him at his best
