Nancy Grace and now CNN have had nothing positive to say about WWE as of late.
Ted Turner owns CNN and Headline News (the station Nancy Grace appears on).
Coincidence?

I didn't think Turner still owned those nets after the TW/AOL stuff...

Forget that, I want to see Ted's "End of the World" tape.

Ted Turner has absolutely nothing to do with CNN or any subsidiaries. He hasnt even been a meaningless board member in years. Mods should lock this.

This is a pretty crazy theory. I'm a little disappointed John Cena suggested it.

Absolutely not. Ted's hasn't been with them since AOL bought Time Warner, and it was for this reason that WCW folded (it's in the WCW book!).
I'd just chalk this up as typical media bs.

People tend to forget that the ENTIRE media (MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, ect) has been critical of WWE. I guess a conspiracy theory is more appealing than the truth.

Ted Turner has no control over CNN. Nancy Grace hates everything. Fox and NBC covered the Benoit story just as harshly.
If even one of those "yes" votes here isn't done in the name of irony, you should probably change the tinfoil on your hat.

Don't worry, I'm sure WWE will act like CNN is the only media outlet to screw them over. I'm sure we'll hear idiotic and unfunny comments on the various shows (from the announcers, wrestlers, and Vince) about the situation. Kind of predictable really.

Like others have said, Turner isn't even a board member anymore. He has nothing at all to do with Time Warner.

Turner doesn't own it anymore, and the documentary the other night was pretty even handed and objective.

Regardless of Turner's position in CNN (I know nothing about it, so I won't comment), it's hard to deny WWE kinda deserve to be pressured, hard, to make something relevant about the steroid/painkillers issue.
Media are usually harsh with everything that can spark debate, interest, controversy AND rarings. WWE makes no exception. At the contrary, being a low form of entertainment, being owned and run by only one guy, it's an easy target.
But WCW has nothing to do with that.

It's been said, but Turner has absolutely nothing to do with CNN anymore, nor has he for years now. The man was completely out of power very soon after the AOL/Time Warner merger, and didn't even have any say (aside from being a figurehead for a short period) before WCW went under.
