How would you rate "Your Teacher"/ "Hot Stuff" Matt Striker?

He's not as good as Matt Stryker, that's for sure.
But I got no hate for the man. He should really change his name to Argyle Aggression, though.

uh did u just refer to another man as "Hot Stuff"? I've been watching 3PW dvd's, and they refer to him as "Hot Stuff" Matt Stryker. And his gimmick was he steals other peoples gimmicks. Including Randy Savage, Roddy piper, Jimmy Snuka, Repo Man, Earthquake, Ric Flair, Shawn Micheals and many more. So there, hetrosexuality intact.

The only time I watched Striker live was at a ROH show in 2005, where he faced the Embassy's Mike Kruel (who I think is now in OVW, oddly enough).
The two put on a very solid match, very fluid, well executed.
Based on the little I've seen of him, I say "7".

I gave Matt Striker a 5. I've only seen him through WWE so for all I know he can do better. Anyway, I just find him to be an average pro wrestler. He's not good nor bad.

He's a solid worker...his 3PW stuff was great. He'd be good in a tag team or just as a midcarder.

He's not a good in-ring worker. At certain times he seems lost in the ring, he has very little impact when he runs the ropes, he moves slow (odd for someone his size), none of his maneuvers or holds are memorable or interesting, he doesn't usually get much heel heat in his matches, and his striking moves seem weak (ironic that his wrestling name is "Striker"). I'd rate him a four--a below average worker. He's nowhere near the worst they have, but he's still subpar, in my opinion.
I'm glad he's basically a manager now. He's all right on the mic, which makes up for his in-ring short-comings. Also, he's supposedly a nice guy outside the ring, so I have nothing personal against him.

6. Not great, but not horrible, either. I've seen way better, but I've seen much worse. On the mic though, the guy is amazing. Great heat getter.

I've always been a little puzzled as to why Striker is seen as a technical wrestler. All his actions in the ring seem so...rehearsed. His mat wrestling has always been bland to me, and I can't recall a single hold that he uses. Does the guy even have a finishing maneuver?

I'd give him at least a 6 or 7. He's a heel and pretty much a manager/jobber so his job is to sell other people's moves which is probably why you can't recall specific holds or a finisher, but if you watch matches where he beats jobbers on wwe.com he can actually carry a match fairly well.

I've seen him against jobbers and my opinion remains unchanged. I DO remember him doing a good DDT on an opponent while they're feet were on the ropes, but that's about it. As for him being a heel, heels still need signature moves and finishers. Even the Honky Tonk Man had signature moves. Striker doesn't really do the Memphis heel schtich that well. And the fans don't give him much heat once the match starts when they should be cheering the babyface like crazy to annihilate him. Instead, they're quiet. It's kind of hard to justify silence in a match.

Yeah, but Striker is a jobber and Honky was the IC champ. There is a huge difference. And I disagree that the fans are quiet, Striker gets heat from what I've seen.

He gets heat until the match starts. Once he starts wrestling, the fans stop caring. It's why he should stick to managing. If you can't get the fans to react during your matches, then you're doing something wrong.

i love the way the guy sells certain offense. i think he is very good at selling. other than that i haven't seen enough of him to judge just yet. out of the ring rating would be an 8 or 9 though.

I'd rate him a 7. He doesn't wrestle much, but every time I've seen him, he makes the other guy look like a million bucks.
I've been saying this for awhile now, but I think with the proper booking Matt Striker could become the next Bobby Heenan. I'd love to see what could happen if they started some "Heenan Family" type stable with Striker as the boss.
