If you guys want an online (360) Smackdown league, I am 100 percent for it. Seriously, it could be great.
I'm getting it Tuesday so just let me know.

And like hell i'd have a bunch of 15-year-old jackwads with names like "THA BIG PUN" fight for anything I create. Now if we had a league going, I'd be more open to it. We wanted to get a league going last year, and I'm dead serious about following through with it this year. Well if we can try getting a league off the ground I will definetely get the game for it.

Am I the only one who HATES the new control system?
Run with L1 is awful, and I'm still not convinced about the grappling system introduced last year. This time they got rid of the "classic" controls, so it's my way or the highway with grapples.
Not thrilled by svr08 so far...

Oh, I just saw, if you buy the game at Target this week, you get a "free WWE DVD".
It doesn't say what it is, but hey, free is free. Best Buy has a "free DX attire code" and a 10 dollars off Ultimate Fan DVD sets, but Target seems like the place to go.
Edit: I was wrong. Go to Toys R Us to get the game, people. This week if you get it (for the 360 version), it is 50 dollars and you get a free bonus Rey Mysterio figure.

...rent it. That might work. My twelve year ban from Blockbuster should just be up about now. I'm telling you, GameFly is your friend. You save so much, and you don't even have to keep the game.

Time for a couple of stupid questions... Is there anyone who could tell me how the hell I change the targeted wrestler in matches with more than two participants? Also, how do I fine-tune my CAW attributes? I have bought a technical starter pack and premium pack for Sara Del Rey, raising her overall to 80, but is there any way I could just assign attributes manually? 1) That's a good question, I wasn't able to do that manually thus far. It wouldn't be that bad if my wrestler would turn faster, but most trucks are faster in doing a 180 degress turn than my guy in the ring. 2) AFAIK you need to use the training options in the career mode.

These CAWs are looking pretty nice so far. I've seen a good Raven, and a good old school Undertaker on caws.ws Looks like the hair options are a lot better. And we also got the worse Kane CAW ever. The only way it could be worse is if it was one of those gangsta'd out CAW's that popped up near the end of '07's lifespan. I know the game hasn't come out in the states yet, but the CAW selection is still pretty damn anemic and hilarious.

Okay peeps I've got the game for PS3 couldn't resist buttgoblins and whatever, plus fire pro isn't coming out in Europe, anyways thought I'd share some thoughts and pet peeves thus far...
First some brief background on my gaming tastes, I really liked SDvsR '06 but hated last years, and I still get No Mercy out from time to time and thoroughly enjoy it!
As far as having a normal match goes this is a big improvement over last year's the gameplay is much slower, which in my opinion is great, some may feel that the fighting styles hinder what you can do in a match but I think it makes the wrestler's feel individual and different from each other.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the weight detection has been completely removed, I hit a suplex into a facebuster on Batista with Jeff Hardy earlier?!
Finlay is a cruiserweight? I know this by having a brief look into GM mode, there may be others in the wrong weight division!
24/7 mode is REALLY boring I seem to fight the same guys over and over, I started with Jeff Hardy and he gets about £10,000 a week if I win however to unlock each Legend you need £210,000! That's a lot of boredom, I figured out a way round it, just start as your opponent and get DQ'd but still! Once I've bought everything I won't be using it again so this doesn't bother me too much, is there any other way to make money?
This is retarded... to run you have to press L1 plus a direction, if you let go of that direction you stop running, therefore it is IMPOSSIBLE to hit anyone first running move which is done by pressing Square with no direction e.g. Cena's Shoulderblock (for lack of a better example) WTF?!
Extreme Rules matches are fun as hell.
To demonstrate just how small the roster is, I tried to start a GM mode before unlocking anyone using ECW, I could only get 14 guys (including divas) before there was actually no one left to pick!
I seem to be complaining a lot but I do really like this game, I've had it since friday and already had a few great matches, including a great ladder match with Jeff vs Batista and a 30 minute Ironman match I won 2-1 with HBK vs Bret.
UCMs are much improved over last year by the fact you can escape them.
I haven't unlocked everything yet but there's no nWo music so far, though as before they've got 'Melina' 'Johnny Nitro' and 'Nitro & Melina' all of which are exactly the same!
In case anyone's wondering Extreme Rules isn't limited to one on one, you can have 2 on 2, Triple Threat & Fatal Four Way!
Any questions, just ask and I'll respond probably tomorrow night (British time) apologies in advance if I don't!
Edit: Sorry £'s = $'s

No classic control scheme?
That's more BS on THQ's part. This game just gets less and less appealing.

I didn't even know Target sold WWE DVDs.

They have to separate the crowd noises and the entrance themes. Seriously, how hard is it to add a code that basically says "If Ent.Music = "FaceWrestler", Then at Time = 0:40, Play = "CrowdCheer001"".

I am assigning a move set for my newly made Super Dragon CAW, and I just noticed that they actually have a PHOENIX SPLASH in the game this year.
Of course, since this is a THQ game, they do NOT have the regular top rope version but a springboard Phoenix Splash. That is certainly better than nothing, though.

That they'd go alll springboard-y for it They probably couldn't remember if the move was from the top rope or not, so they just made it a springboard move. Which, if you ask me, defeats everyone's argument that the limited movesets are more realistic to the WWE style. I don't know one man who could hit a springboard Phoenix Splash. Not even Ruckus.
