Batista is the lesser evil, if only because nobody got hurt on the stupid trap doors for his overly elaborate ring entrance. I'm pretty sure the blame goes to WCW for wanting to use such an entrance - Warrior himself wasn't too keen on it, but when did they ever listen to him? Blame the trap-door workmen, blame management, blame the victims (drugged up Davey Boy Smith) for not being aware as to where the trapdoor was, but do not blame the performer here. Back on topic, I would say Warrior is the lesser o the two evils - Warrior may have smurfed around the fans and promoters, but he never cost anyone their livelihood (Ariel), or publically berated his co-workers while still employed by the company.

Another Warrior thread. Wow.
I stopped watching wrestling in late-2004, so I missed Batista's rise, but either way I'd go with Warrior. People either forget or don't realize how popular Warrior was back then, and the fact that he ALWAYS delivered in a big match setting (his series with Rude, Hogan, Savage, Slaughter......and I still regret we never got a complete Warrior/Jake and Warrior/Taker feud). I can't imagine Batista has been in a match people will still talk about 15-20 years later, but maybe I'm wrong.

I actually liked Warrior when I was a kid and am still a big fan of his early material so Warrior it is even though the man went bonkers in his post wrestling days. As for his supposedly holding up the company ol' Hulkster shouldn't be throwing stones. That whole Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior DVD disgusted me between everybody kissing Vince McMahon's ass, Bobby Heenan putting words in a dead guy's mouth(Andre the Giant), and The Genetic Jackhammer Vince McMahon himself trying to portray himself as the patron saint of grapplers. That transformation rivals anything Lon Chaney ever did. The whole DVD sound like little more than a fluff piece to stoke Vince McMahon's ego and shouldn't be considered a documentary. Stick that one in the comedy section.

Warrior, he was entertaining and a better wrestler than Batista (though that's not saying much)

The thing that annoys me about the DVD, aside from the slanderous commentary and excessive revisionism, is the fact that newer generations of fans are going to mock him just because the WWE told them to. I'd bet many of the people putting their opinions in this thread (and on this forum in general) never actually saw Warrior during his prime. They are simply going to say negative things about him because of what they've heard or seen on the DVD, without putting any thought into historical context or trying to understand the character. It still amazes me how some people bash Warrior endlessly because of his real-life persona, but have no problem differentiating TV from reality when it relates to guys like Shawn Michaels. The bias is incredible.

Stick that one in the comedy section. I heard (from a shoot interview, can't remember which one) the plan was to do that with Brett Hart's DVD too but fortunately for him he came to an agreement with Vince before it was released. Anyways, I think Warrior is the lesser evil although I don't necessarily think Batista is the evil prick that he's made out to be. But for wrestling I think definitely Warrior was better for the product in 1987. Plus, if I remember correctly, during Warrior's shoot interview he gives a totally different account on holding Vince up for money, among other things. He says Vince didn't pay him for previous PPVs and sales from his T-shirts and he just wanted to get all money owed to himself before doing another show. Considering a few of the other wrestlers who have quit the WWE have mentioned something similar it may be true.

Well, both of them suck in the ring and are the IWC's most hated. In this battle of the roid heads, the lesser of the evils go to BATISTA. The man is a convicted felon (drugs) who has really tried to turn around his life, though of course it has hit bumps and has said some really off-color comments. What did Warrior do, make some insensitive remarks and try to bury everyone around him? At least Batista is trying to get better in the ring, while Warrior was wooden in his ability.

I have enjoyed more Batista matches than Warrior matches, take it for what it is worth.

What's with all the Warrior/Batista/Goldberg threads as of late? Bored are we? Smarks got tired of picking on Hogan/HHH/McMahon clan/Bischoff/Jarrett/Roma. Quite frankly, Paul Roma doesn't get enough blame as far as I'm concerned. He ruined Power & Glory.

taking a smark perspective.
Batista has put on way better matches in his short career.
I think he's this Generation's Nikita Kolloff moreso than Ultimate Warrior.
Though Batista/Cena is the closest we will get to Hogan/Warrior.

Choosing between Warrior and Batista is like choosing between Hitler and daily anal rape.

I vote Warrior; and not only because I still mark for him.
I once saw a movie where a wise old man said "Who's more foolish? The fool or the fool that follows him?"
And with the backstage attitude, the overly juiced up body and the shaking of the ropes, etc... Batista is obviously trying to be like Warrior.
