I'm assuming that guys like John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, etc. make 7 figures on base salary. But what about mid-card guys? What about someone like Hacksaw Jim Duggan? Kenny Dykstra? Do they get PPV bonuses? Do they see a percentage of merchandise sales?
Anyone have an idea of how the pay scale works?

I'd only imagine they receive ppv bonuses and merchandise sales percentages in the event they either appear on a ppv or have merchandise available.

I thought they were allowed to pick fans up by their legs and shake them, keeping whatever falls out.

Hacksaw has the worst contract. Instead of being paid in money, he is paid in two-by-fours.

I remember Jeff Hardy saying that during the Hardyz peak, they were earning around $700,000.
But that was during a boom, so popular mid carders nowdays probably get around $300k.

Nobody knows for certain, but it's based on drawing power, Card Postition, gate and PPV sales, and merchandise cut, in addition to a base pay and in some cases, a guranteed contract.

I believe a new, typical Superstar (including Diva) starts out with $125k per year. For mid-carders its at least $250k, plus merchandising.

Didn't Stone Cold put his foot in his mouth and say that most guys made at least 250k but most of the people made around 50k?

There was a list from a few years back of questionable validity that talked about their salaries. I presume they were averaged out between their guaranteed contract, their downside, merchandise sales, gate percentage, and any other perks that are included.
As I recall, Hunter got use of the jet ten times...which would be reasonably cool.
At any rate, I'm sure there's a copy of it out in the wilds of the WrestleCrap Archives.

Not all that much when you factor in travel costs, gym costs, hotel costs, eating in restaurants all the time. And that's not counting any bills they have to pay back home, whether they have kids, etc. I just can't see surviving in the business unless you just downright love it. Even guys who half-ass it have to have a crazy level of commitment and love for aspects of it.

They get a small downside guarantee that's paid weekly, but most of their income is divided up among the bills of the road like hotels, food, travel, etc. Most of the income they make is from merchandise and their position on the card, hence why it's so cutthroat in the locker room and a negative attitude towards the new guys

However, I don't think I've ever seen that with a credit on it, so as I stated before, it has questionable credability at best.

Simple Answer: They pay a lot better than anywhere else in wrestling
Complex Answer: We do not know and I hope nobody dares to answer the question acting like they know everything about the business.
