I saw this suggestion on the IMDB page for the 2009 movie.
He has the look...thats for sure.
I didnt think he was bad in the Marine, but Capt. America is a charector with a lot of depth and emotion. He would be a much tougher charector to play than John Triton, in my opinion.
I'd rather see an actor that can get the job done right, over someone that has the look.
edit: I just realized how many Superman jokes this thread will produce

It could work. Cap is such a simple character (in a good way) that Cena could be able to pull it off.
As it is...I keep thinking that Mike Quackenbush would be the most perfect Captain America ever.

I gotta disagree...I dont think Cap is very simple at all. He was left for dead by the country he loved, fought for and saved; he was frozen for years only to be thawed out to find that all his loved ones are either dead, or old and moved on from his loss. Despite all of his, he still has a passion for his country and would fight for his country at any length. The original cap was kind of simple, but the modern day version is a pretty complex and has a very good story to tell.

Depends. If they did it right, to where Cap was a man out of his own time trying to find his way etc, then I don't think John has the chops for it.
If however, they just decided he's a patriot guy in a suit and didn't go any deeper than that, he'd work fine.

Now all I can think of is Captain America being led up the steps of that courthouse doing the "You can't see me" pose moments before he gets shot and dies. And for the rest of his days, the Red Skull wears a T-shirt that says "Yes I did."

If John Cena was casted as Captain America... I'd probably cry.
I love comics, I love wrestling... but I hate it when they cross.
Chyna the comic anyone? Ultimate Warrior raping santa?
Thought not.

"So, you say your name is The Red Skull? I say your name is The Red CHEAP!!!!" Yeah. If this happened, I would wait until this came out on DVD to see it. Because it's really hard to throw a brick through a movie screen.

He is a bit too big for Captain America i think. Cap isnt a muscle head, he's tall and lean while being cut.
I wouldnt be against it thought, it could work.

Cap varies in his size. In the nineties he was more massive, nowadays comics are more manga-ized so he's slimmer.

I think it's more artist to artist. Some guys draw all their superheroes to be massive, others make them more slimmed down and scaled.
Cant say i was ever a reader of the CA independent title, but when i saw in the infinity crossovers he was never very big.

Dude, "Boomtown" kicked mucho ass. I'd be behind that choice. I'd say Thomas Jane as well, but he's already done the Punisher, so having him be cap would make no sense.

I like that actor from Tin Man, but he doesnt have the look of a hero.
He looks more like a villian, or a goofy baseball player from Angels in the Outfield to me.
By the way, Tin Man would have been better if Bruce Campbell played the titular role.

But as horrible as that first part was, it would have been better just not coming on at all.
