I knew Daniel couldn't be trusted with the time machine. Lost it to Enzo in a card game.

Is this illegal? Can it even be illegal? Why are there even places to bet on something where institutionally a lot of people need to know the outcome in advance? You can bet on things happening or not happening on Game of Thrones and other TV shows. Those are scripted much farther in advance. Generally, the bookmaker puts very low limits on how much can be bet. It's more to get attention and get you to go to their website (or into their betting shop in the UK) so you'll probably make a lot of other stupid bets on other things. Any bookie that allowed itself to be taken for a substatial sum of money on the outcomes of predetermined matches deserves to lose all its money and go out of business. Call it the natural selection of the wagering market.

How can you believe someone named Satan, no matter how he spells his name?
And by "repackaged," will it be like when they sent Kenny Dykstra back to OVC in a crate? How much would it cost to ship Harper to Orlando?

The gimmick is getting him heel attention. People don't like it. That's the point.
It's the most refreshing thing he's done in years.
His talent has a ceiling and he's repeatedly bumped his head on it because it's so low.
He's best utilized as a jobber because when he really tries he can make others look good. That's literally about it.

I'd really like for Dana Warrior to go away now. I'd prefer Dolph disappear.

So if you kill your family, it's your employer's fault? Nice world you live in. They could've helped prevent it. Please give us a list of things you've done that your employer could have prevented, keeping in mind that they have no idea that you were going to do them. It comes back to Benoit himself. Personal responsibility. You seem to hang on some kind of undefined "Eddie died so ... he killed his family." How do you know that had anything to do with his actions, that he wouldn't have killed them even if Eddie were still alive? And if he went into some kind of depression after Eddie died, why, in more than EIGHTEEN MONTHS after that, did he not seek professional help on his own? How is that his employer's fault? Does that extend to every murderer ever?

I disagree with those who classify this as a tragedy.
A tragedy happens: someone is hit by a bus, someone dies in a hurricane, etc.
This was an atrocity. An atrocity is perpetrated. It is committed by someone. It doesn't just "happen."
There's a difference.

I don't get how something made and produced 3 years before the tragedy comes off as creepy now. Plus if WWE had gotten him the help he needed, these kinds of conversations wouldn't exist because at most he would've died from his heart issue. So in theory, I blame WWE for not getting him help in time. So if you kill your family, it's your employer's fault? Nice world you live in.

I have no idea how big KISS is, but would they have been a big enough mainstream band to pull this off? Are you serious? KISS was huge around that time, having reunited the original lineup in 1997. They're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yes, they had quite a revival with the band reuniting and were red hot at the time. They'd have drawn a big crowd if they'd just have held a concert with no wrestling.

I'll never understand the urge some have to create "in praise of the murderer" threads "because he wuz a good rassler."
I'm sure there's some people who appreciate Hitler as a painter, too, and try to separate that from the genocide he perpetrated.
CB was a cold blooded murderer. He had the mental wherewithal to make up a lie for why he didn't attend the PPV. He bound his wife before murdering her. He drugged his own son before murdering him. He carried this out over the course of three days. None of that adds up to "he's innocent because he had the brain of a 90 year old Alzheimer's patient," because 90 year old Alzheimer's patients don't even recognize people they know when they see them. They don't make calculated decisions to lie about their actions because they aren't aware of their actions.
He did what he did. That some still want to praise him and got more upset about WWE "erasing" him (by not celebrating him, by not mentioning the murderer or showing his matches in vignettes about people he wrestled) than about the fact that he killed his own family. And I'll never, ever get that.

It shouldn't, but it drives me nuts whenever Native English Speakers do the try hard "I can pronounce the Japanese ra/ri/ru/re/ro sound!" thing. I personally find it far worse when Americans don't give a **** about how words from different languages are pronounced correctly, like basically all of them all of the time. Do you have the same reaction to Nakamura butchering English on his promos?

Full Sail was not an option.
The school was closed due to the hurricane and the NXT taping was moved back a couple of days due to that.
Millions of people in Florida without power. They didn't even determine until Tuesday morning that the University of Florida in Gainesville, which wasn't hit as hard, can hold a football game on SATURDAY.
Trying to hold an entertainment event there during all this is a needless use of resources and literally thumbing their noses at those affected. Flying in people for an event, trying to get people (fans) to attend who were more worried about basic needs and the aftermath of the big storm would have been absolutely ridiculous.
Having it in front of a large, hot crowd and getting on ASAP after SD was the way to go. The buildup had already taken place, the tournament is the highest rated thing on the WWE Network so it had a built in audience.

This thread is not for knocking the actual match itself because it was a solid affair that showed off the strengths of both immensely talented wrestlers. No, this thread is dedicated to the terrible and hastened presentation of the finale. As I said before the MYC finale was without a doubt sabotaged by someone in the back who hates women's wrestling. It was presented as something way less important than the CWC finale considering it was condensed from 2 hours to 30 minutes. I get that maybe you didn't need to put the semi-finals on the same night but it would have been nice to have several exhibition matches from the other competitors and interviews with former females greats as opposed to quick camera shots of them in the crowd. The greatest disservice was not giving the finale its own dedicated night and just sandwiching it between SDL and 205 Live. Also the crowd was dead after the KO/Vince segment and a part of me can't help but think it was somewhat intentional because SDL usually concludes with a wrestling match that doesn't involve any type of major segment. Also, with the short runtime the final match was condensed to the standard 10-12 minutes and it should have gone close to 30 considering the importance of the match and capable talent involved. There was also the lack of an actual coronation and interviews which also made this whole thing feel so insignificant. So yeah, considering how the CW division has been treated as an afterthought I shudder to imagine how the MYC signees, aside from Kairi and Shayna, will be treated once they are on WWE TV. I disagree. The match needed eyeballs on it, not some boring filler buildup to pad it out and take it past midnight on the east coast. Go straight to it so people can see. The buildup happened leading up to the match, didn't need to do anything more but say "Here's what you've been waiting for" and get to it. I wouldn't have stayed up 2 hours or even an hour waiting for it. I turned it on after SD and watched because they did it right away.

I'm not thinking of constipation when I see Nakamura but when I listen to a Jinder Mahal & Singh Bros promo, it's an excellent laxative though. Also an excellent insomnia cure Mostly when I watch Naka's matches, I think of Sominex ... specifically, my lack of need to take any. Dude mails it in most of the time.

HHH beating Owens at Mania. This is the McMahon pattern. Heel kills Vince, barely beats Shane in a match, and then Hunter pulls his dick out and shows who the real man in the family is. Rinse and repeat. This is exactly how it happened with Undertaker and AJ ... NOT. Where are you getting this from? Seriously, do you even watch the show?

Think about how vile a human being the Kevin Owens character is at this point. Vince bragged about how Owens had no chance of winning a lawsuit because Vince was rich and KO would be bankrupt and ruined. He said the only reason he suspended Shane was because he was upset Shane didn't beat KO half to death. And the McMahon's are STILL the good guys in this scenario. People tend to be able to relate to someone defending their family. Did you forget that this was all in response to Owens saying every single member of the McMahon family should be killed or die? If you say something about my family, I'm the bad guy for standing up to you?

I want to know what Vince was saying to Owens off mic before the headbutt. "Dick Sargent was the better Darren on Bewitched." I know you're kidding, but ... YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!

Tonight gave Owens back his 'badass cred' as well as getting him real, genuine, "He beat up an old man" heat.
Touché.
