"I think people need to lay off Hardy and TNA a bit here and realize that Jeff Hardy needs serious help." Except....the only two entities which refuse to admit this are Jeff Hardy....and TNA. They deserve ALL the razzing they're getting, IMO. Hardy's had multiple chances to get help. MULTIPLE. He's refused them all. TNA could have taken him off the schedule and sent him into an involuntary 5150 or something, or at the very least, checked him IN to a rehab facility. But they've decided that a f****d up, wasted Hardy is STILL a Jeff Hardy the goth girls and young chicks in the crowd will pop for. They're both to blame for tonight. Yes, Jeff DOES have issues, you and I can see that, and you and I can come up with a goddamn dozen solutions to it. But until and unless Jeff ever listens to at least ONE of them, it's hopeless. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a f*****g problem. Jeff has yet to do that. As for tonight, getting back on topic.....if it IS found that he was under some sort of intoxicant...that should be his final hurrah with the company. I don't disagree with you at all but most people do not understand drug addiction and are just going to laugh about it. Also you can't expect TNA to be experts on drug addiction either. More than 70% of the population don't even know how drug addiction works and refuse to call it a disease. They CAN'T force Hardy into rehab. After tonight they need to suspend him and give him an ultimatum. Rehab or your fired. If Jeff Hardy had cancer no one would be laughing. Drug addiction is a very real disease and people saying bush league or Hardy sucks are being aholes making fun of a guy with a serious mental problem.

the Stinger either wasn't aware of it before hand, or had it dropped on him at the last second too. If that's the case, and this goes without saying, that's very unprofessional, not to mention DANGEROUS, even by TNA's standards. I mean, would you (or how could you) really tell a performer seconds before he exits the curtain, or when he's already standing in the ring, "Oh, by the way, your opponent is wasted... do your best to deal with it." Kudos to Sting. I don't blame him for ending it early and possibly preventing an injury to either himself or Jeff Hardy. At least someone was a professional throughout this whole ordeal. You need to re-read a lot of the thread.

Sounds as though he did a good job keeping up with AJ though. Most reviews I've seen said it was the best match of the night, though all things considered the competition for that honor was a little low. I don't know. The tag team championsgip match and rvd/Anderson were pretty good. I thought RVD/Anderson was the worst match on the entire card. At least Sting/Hardy was interesting.

Hardy is the Heel in that Match, and plays to the Crowd. Even gets away from Stings Lock Up Attempt because he didn't feel ready to end his damn T Shirt Spot. Sting is clearly pissed, Hardy is clearly shocked after he got pinned, slammed his Hand on the Turnbuckle and stuff. Sting just looks at him. Most important thing: They added a No DQ Stip, that didn't even effect the Match. Sting walks up the Ramp, Crowd chants "Bulls***" Sting says : "I agree" twice. There's a rumor that everything was unfolding as we saw it, the no DQ thing was decided between when the ref talked to the agent and Bischoff came out with the thought that if Immortal came out and Sting instead fought them for a while it could buy them some time and not seem so shitty. Apparently once Bischoff got out there a decision was made for the quick defeat(likely after Bischoff talked to Hardy then Sting). Very bizarre situation and weird to think we saw the entire thing play out live.

I really can't see this being a worked shoot, it just looked like Hardy was f***ed up. I don't know really how much I can blame the company, Hardy is responsible for keeping Hardy clean; and it seems he has a hard time doing that. Or this could've been a worked shoot, but IMO Hardy is messed up and the ref and Sting knew it. It's Hardy's job to keep himself clean, absolutely, but it's also TNA's job, if they see he's not in any condition to perform, to say "go home", or something along those lines. If, in fact, Hardy was in any way impaired, it was TNA's responsibility to Sting, as an employee, to keep him safe in case Hardy f***ed up. And it looks like they did keep him safe if you watch the video. It definitely doesn't look like Sting called the audible.

This is a weird situation. With all reports pointing to Jeff being fine until just before the match I'd say they did the honest best they good given the situation. It still sucks and is horrible PR(especially for people who ordered for that match) but if you watch the video I posted it was handled in about as a professional of a way as humanly possible given the circumstances.
So yeah, definitely not a good thing, some lessons to be learned but I don't think it's the huge fiasco that everyone is making it out to be. It likely would have been an alright match but the show stealers on this show were Ultimate X, BM/Ink, Inc, AJ/Matt and even Ray/Dreamer(as far as being a really great opener). This definitely won't be the "death kneel" that some people are bizarrely prophisizing for them - it wasn't a hyped show and probably did lower than usual buys due to their abandonment of the PPV program. They'll have a bit of damage control to do but granted they learn from it this will be an insignificant moment in the history of TNA/wrestling. Seeing these responses makes me wonder how an internet forum would have read following the Montreal Screwjob, though. I'd wager that most people were betting on WWF going under within the year

Also, if you watch the pinfall it looks like Sting is HOLDING Jeff down and Jeff may actually get hsi shoulder up. This is very interesting

From the comments: 2:45- Hardy Says something to ref and leaves ring
3:00- Ref gives the "not ok" signal to the hard cam
3:08- Ref waves someone to come towards ring
3:12- ref is talking to an agent or someone
3:25-3:35- Ref tells Sting something, Sting says "u kidding me?", then mutters stuff under his breath as he throws coat out of ring.
5:57- Bischoff tells off Hardy

TNA, this is why you don't deserve to succeed. If a seasoned pro like Sting takes it to such an extreme, YOU HAVE A BLOODY PROBLEM! This is what happens when you don't have a wellness program. You get dopefiends like Jeff Hardy endangering everybody. He could've killed Ken Anderson and Sting refused to let something bad happen to him. FIX THIS! Exactly. How the hell you justify putting the world title not once but twice on a guy whose up on drug charges is beyond me. Maybe Sting can knock TNA officials heads together because you don't let a guy in no condition to perform out to the ring. That's just endangering the other performer. One report said the No DQ rule was so that Sting could stay on offense and Immortal could run in and do the work for Hardy. But STing felt that Hardy wasn't even in good enough shape to do that. It's not like it sounds like they were going to have Hardy doing Swantons and DDTs.

The match was trying to break the "finger poke of doom" level, TNA is lucky they put in like 2-3 moves before they ended it. There was one move.

So How long was the match? I've heard from 45 sec to 5 mins. Somewhere in between, like maybe 2 min. at most. I actually thought at first that Hardy kicked out & the ref accidentally counted 3, but I guess not. Meltzer timed it at almost 1:00 exactly.
