Remember the Go Home Dynamite before World's End? There was a Devil message on the screen saying something like "It was a pleasure doing business with you."
I felt AEW left this ambiguous. In kafaybe, did Joe deck MJF with the chair because he thought the message meant MJF was doing business with the Devil and thus screwing with him the whole time? Or did Joe deck MJF with the chair because Joe in fact was the one working for the Devil.
Even when Cole unmasked and attacked MJF at the PPV, Joe was gone from the ring. There was no embrace between Joe and the Undisputed Kingdom. Even the following week on TV, Cole said something in a promo like "yeah, Joe was working for us." But Joe himself never came out and joined them in the ring to confirm it.
What did you think about the way the Samoa Joe / Adam Cole interaction was handled?

Joe was just a mercenary; he's not a part of the group and not friends with any of them, he just had an arrangement to work with them and deceive Max so that he could get the title. It's a lot like how Mogul Embassy just betrayed Swerve in what was apparently the Bucks' idea; they aren't with the Elite, they aren't with Christian, their needs just aligned with those guys. And in that regard, I like the aspect of AEW where peoples' goals can work together like that and it doesn't lead to any greater alliance or further story implications, it's just a moment where they act with a pretty logical grasp on how character motivations work.
