For Years they would mock JR on TV. Vince mocking his Bell's Palsy on TV. He made him kiss his ass on TV. JR mentioned the weird friendship between them. Vince never seemed to really like JR. What do you think is the reason? I heard many say it was because JR had a southern Accent. Vince also kinda mentioned on Austin's Podcast that JR would not be a real team player at times.

A bully looking to victimise someone for his laughs. In any normal business, making fun of someone's medical condition and persona would lead to disciplinary. Maybe Jim was not cooperating with taking part in alleged activities with Johnny Ace and Vinnie Mac.

Vince is a piece of shit. Nothing more to it than that.

pretty much vince being vince, knowing he could get away with a lot of shitty behaviour as there was no one above him to tell him to "knock it off" or punish him for it and also knowing that Ross wouldn't get paid the same without moving out of the U.S. on a semi permanent basis once wcw died and most likely had the mind set of "he'll move on to pulling this shit on someone else soon and I'll get some peace for a while."

A combination of Vince being a prick and Vince knowing people liked JR and thus he was always a good source of heat, if I had to guess. JR had credibility with audiences and was tolerant of being put in bullshit situations in a way where bullying someone like Kevin Kelly past a certain point wouldn't have worked anywhere near as well.

It wouldn't surprise me if Vince felt threatened by him. JR was a better announcer than Vince. He'd also been a top producer in WCW and was developing some clout in the wrestling business. JR was also more of a Watts guy than a Vince guy, and had pretty strong opinions about how wrestling should be done. Vince probably felt he needed to keep JR humble.

I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of reasons not to like JR. I've got a few myself, and just check out the AEW subforum whenever he comes back to do some commentary now.
But there is not a chance in hell (pun accidental) that JR was ever, on any level, the kind of f***ed up that Vince was.
And also. Vince literally owns the place. I don't care who he's bullying. You don't like someone, get them out of the company, don't humiliate them on television, what the f*** is that.

I have no doubt in my mind that JR didn't give a shit at all until they moved him off Raw in that one draft. I think that is the only time he ever got pissed off at one of Vince's bits. He had Vince by the balls since he controlled the talent, their pay, and how they got over on TV and Vince hated it. Hell with the amount of people that jumped or went to WCW "catching WWE by surprise" under his watch and it nearly costing them a major (and inadvertently leading to TNA and ask the issues it caused them) I'm sure Vince did some as a bit of payback. People put too much stock into "Good Ol JR" the character and forget the corporate shill behind it.

Vince was a c*** and could get away with it because no one was going to tell him to stop being a c***.

I wouldn't doubt some of the stuff was pitched by people in the back that JR rubbed the wrong way, some of it came from the face commentator that is friends with the megastar having to put up wit crap by the deranged millionaire boss that hates the megastar, just makes sense from a storyline perspective... and of course Vince being a lunatic in real life as well as for why did JR put up with it, because it was part of the show. It's again one of the things that I think the fans put more stock into than the actual on screen talent did... (except for swapping him to Smackdown without telling him, definitely seemed to actual piss him off like you say. Even then giving him warning they were going to swap him and Cole he would probably not have been as mad at...)

This reminds me of the time they sent Big Dick Johnson out to mess around with JR during one of the ad breaks and JR just punched the man full force in the balls.
