Oblivion -- You didn't roleclaim, which puts you on the list of people that have yet to roleclaim: I'm not saying that's how things are in this game, it's just the only other game I've played. Based on my limited experience, I assume that the Serial Killer has to be the last one alive to win, while there could be another third party looking for someone specific as part of the win condition. List of those who haven't claimed: crudulak Latino Meat Michael Hayden Oblivion Sorceress pegasuswarrior Ravishing One Scruffy Neither Darius (D2) or Ripper (Emoticon) have appeared in the write ups yet, and there have been no counter-claims at all. I'm really close to convincing myself to claim since the list is so short now. What do you other unknowns think? Those are the suspected mafia/serial killers, since everyone else that roleclaimed could not be lying...

And since then, crudulak roleclaimed as well.
I think pegasus might have as well -- it was a lot to digest at once, what with the whole Emoticon claiming himself as Snow thing.
That leaves a short list of people that have yet to claim.

hmm... i can agree with that D2... mostly just because of the vibe i get off of Ravishing which i admit is probably biased. it is a little flimsy though... i guess we'll have to wait and see if MEM is who he says he is before we can really start figuring out who we should lynch next.
maybe i did jump the gun as Ritt said before by not waiting... i just didn't want to wait for more nighttime shenanigans where we could possibly lose someone who would point out a view that could really help us out. i wanted to get as many ideas out as possible while we still could

(The Fire Ball Trap chasing Katniss, during The 74th Annual Hunger Games.) The Game Maker's Traps Every now and then, the Game Makers may end up causing some havoc for the Tributes, in each Hunger Game. The Game Makers put in some traps, which force the tributes to make moves, or else risk another trap, or being killed by these dangerous traps.
===========
A week after the unfortunate events of the Rebel Feast, the Tributes return for another day at the arena. However, the tributes noticed one of their own wasn't anywhere to be seen. Where was Beetee Volts?
The Game went underway, as usual, with several back and forth arguing between both sides.
Peeta Mellark, however didn't really feel like saying much, for the pain he was in after the injuries he received during the party. He was lucky to still be alive.
He let his head rest, as he sat quietly looking at the audience. However something in the audience caught his eye. A very large woman in the audience, in one of the front rows, very much resembled the vicious career tribute he tried to fight off in the 75th Hunger Games. She was much too clean, and taken care of to be that same woman though. It could all just be a coincidence.
Wait a minute. That woman, she keeps tending to her shoulder and her chest, with her scarf, that seemed to turn red with every dab. The same areas where Katniss had aimed her arrows the night at the party.
"CAESAR!" Peeta yells, snapping out of his catatonic state. "I need to stop everyone for a moment, as I have something very important I need to say."
Caesar Flickerman stops the discussion, as he invites Peeta to the Podium at the center of the newly rebuilt stadium stage. Everyone looks on with shock to whatever message Peeta needed to say.
Peeta instead of speaking from the podium, stands on the podium itself, holding his microphone.
"As everyone knows, we have a maniac on the loose killing people here in the Capitol. This psycho has even tried to do the same to me during her massacre at the ballroom, with a shotgun, and even a grenade!" Peeta unbuttons his shirt, showing his bandages wrapping around from his front to back around his ribs, dried with blood, his bruises, his cuts, and other disturbing injuries. This garnered several gasps from the audience. "What I know for sure, is that this blood thirsty monster is in this stadium, right now!" The audience's shock rises to higher levels as people start panicking.
Peeta motions for the cameras to follow him, as he makes his way into the audience, peacekeepers following him, as he walked closer and closer to his target. He stops just short in front of the hulking woman.
"Peacekeepers, arrest this woman!" "Dear boy, you must be mistaken." The woman speaks, mouth covered with a scarf. "I am just a mild mannered Brewer, Ripper's the name, and I do not wish harm on anyone."
"Utter Poppy cock!" yells Greasy Sae, into her microphone. "I know Ripper and you are not her!" Peeta rips away the scarf from the woman's grasp. The woman closes her mouth.
"These wounds, look like the same arrow wounds Katniss made with her arrows, trying to defend us against the perpetrator of the Ballroom massacre, how can you explain that?"
"LYNCH, LYNCH, LYNCH!" The Audience begins chanting.
The Peacekeepers, grab the woman as Peeta leads them to the center of the stage.
"Looks like a lynch to me!" Caesar says with satisfaction, as every side looks on with similar delight. "Now I can finally use the Game-Makers Roulette of Death Traps." A wheel lowers down from the ceiling. Caesar spins the Roulette. The wheel lands, on "Poison Fog" which is followed by an unbreakable glass chamber rising from the middle of the stage.
Everyone on stage starts guiding the woman to the chamber. But she quickly turns on one of them and rips out the throat with her bare teeth! Blood squirts out, as everyone looks on with horror, peacekeepers keeping their weapons pointed at her. The twisted audience recognize this act, and cheers for one of their favorite Hunger Game Winners ever, Enobaria!
Enobaria stays in place, her fangs stained red, grinning. "Yes, I am Enobaria, I am the Maniac making you all into roadkill one by one. I managed to kill that Volts fellow after escaping that massacre too!" She says taking, credit for the Capitol's murders.
"Don't worry about me you worthless little weasels! I'll get in that little chokey of yours calmly. Just allow me my last words while I suffocate to death."
She walks confidently, and oddly peaceful into the chamber, as it seals shut, fog quickly filling the area. She looks at President Snow, and the Rest of the Capitol Enforcers. "All you in charge of the Capitol, are the most corrupt low-lives in the history of civilization!"
She turns her head at the Rebels "District Rebellion, you are the Bane of my life! You're like insects: they should be gotten rid of as early as possible! And even if I hate both of your factions, if there is one group that can get rid of these insects, it would be the Capitol!"
She gasps, her last breaths of air, screaming out with the last ounces of strength she had "Long Live the Capitol!" Enobaria falls choking to death from the poison fog.
===========
Later that day, President Snow has a meeting with the rest of his staff.
"The psycho has embarrassed our good names, with her dying words, making us look worse for even being aligned in some way with her! Her death even means we have no scapegoat to hide behind anymore, so I have made the decision, to stop playing nice, with the rebels, and stop being fair. The citizens are starting to side with them, and I don't like it. We have nothing to fear anymore, if we can even have a chance of defeating this uprising. It is time to pull out all stops..." Well, this is good and bad news.
We got the SK, which was HUGE for the town. However, we still have President Snow wandering around along with two other mafia, and quite a list to go off of.
Latino Meat Michael Hayden Oblivion Sorceress Ravishing One Scruffy
Two out of the five are town, while the rest are scum. I realize I'm on there because I haven't roleclaimed, but still, it'll be interesting to hear everyone's take on who could possibly be Mafia.

Heh? Well, that's odd. While I'm glad I helped off the SK, I'm curious as to why he'd claim to be Snow. Obviously my theory was flawed but it helped to expose MEM as not what he appeared to be. I'll have to look back at my case against him and see, with the new developments that have taken place, if I can help pinpoint some more mafia (including Snow).
If I don't make it through the night, I urge someone else town to do the same.

I don't really find it all that odd. I like that Mr. Emoticon played the game all the way until the end, manipulating and having us all second-guess until the very end. That's his job in the particular scenario. Mr. Emoticon is clever in many ways, but sifting through ALL of his posts to determine what's gospel and what's 3rd party treachery would be tough MOSTLY because we have plenty of town out there, some of which are not on the same page as far as suspects and hunches about characters (*see Mr. Emoticon surprises that might abound*). I don't think you all need to put a lot of stock into some of his claims at certain points in the game. I DO think, however, he did have some people in mind as mafia, and as a 3rd party, it wouldn't really hurt him to help the town uncover mafia members. When I finally notched Mr. Emoticon as the Serial Killer on Page 16 (after having that suspicion earlier in the game), I alluded to quotes I could go back to, but he honestly did such a good job that I was possibly going to incriminate myself as something other than town if I completely botched my analysis of Emoticon. Here you go, the document I had saved on my computer that I was fidgety about posting . . . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reasoning for my comments on Day Three about Oblivion Sorceress being strung along by Mr. Emoticon: Day One, early: If you ever think you're on to something, Sorceress, then speak up about it. Might be that there are flaws in your reasoning... or might be that you've uncovered something. Can't help the town at all if you keep quiet, though. I can take this one of two ways: 1) Emoticon is leading a lamb to the slaughter or 2)They're in cahoots. Now, here is another early post that made me raise my eyebrow, even MORESO than everyone's leap at jagilki for what he answered in the questionairre: What the hay... might as well answer these myself. Have you had any previous Mafia Game experience?I've played four games so far, not counting this one, and they were all on here. Would you say you have a good understanding of the game?I think so. I'm not familiar with many of the more obscure roles, but I'm quick to catch on when they're introduced to me. Do you have a favorite role?Currently, my favorite role is the Cop. What about that says ANYthing, you ask? Well, he said "CURRENTLY, my favorite role is the Cop." He embraced that role in the previous game, so when he adds that little "currently" in there, it told me (or at least I suspected it as such) that he had a new role to play around with. Later in the game, he says he's just "normal," which contradicts that slight bit of possible overenthusiasm in what appears to be a harmless question. And as such, I could see him getting a quite different role from the cop this game and being allowed to experiement with that, thus the "currently" line that seems so innocent. If he is lynched today, I'd bet that the cop will still fit the bill as his "favorite" role. In the midst of some heat being on him on Day One, to which he tried and tried to claw out of, he had this shift as another attempt that came after someone had mentioned "lurkers" being an apt target on Day One: EBWOP Also... something to consider. How active were the Mafia members in the last game? Blade wasn't very active, and didn't provide much input; instead, he was forever commenting that he'd address things in his next post. Madison was slipping through the game without much attention at all; indeed, his forgetability was what cued me onto him in the first place. Damien Demento likewise seemed to coast through, avoiding the lurker status but not quite contributing much. And Russo was very much a lurker until the role changed hands and came under suspicion. I'm not saying that the Mafia will operate in the same manner this go-around, particularly since it's most likely a new batch of players. But... in all honesty, I've noticed more of a pattern for Mafia members being relatively inactive than being at the forefront of the discussion, so it might behoove us to keep that in mind. As someone else hinted at before, a shot in the dark might provide interesting results at a low risk. When you look at that quote and then go back and look at his TONES all throughout Day One, there are A LOT of perceived tone shifts. This is also very much the case now that the heat is on in Day Three. I am heavily suspicious of this trend. ritt, jagilki, and tfmcmg all went down, and none of them had "tone shifts," even though they were all targetted with suspicions. And of course, all three flipped town. But back to the lurker warning, "conveniently," this vote happened amid a 3-vote tally against Sweet N Sour: Hm. On the one hand, I agree with the logic about lynching lurkers. Either we nail Mafia, which is great, or we accidentally nail one of our own; but because the person in question was a lurker, and not doing much (if anything) to help the Town in any event, it's not like we really lose much. On the other hand, I am a full supporter of being suspicious about the people who fit the "active lurker" status; ie, those who post but do not really do much. Like I said in a previous post, the entire Mafia in the previous game (as well as one 3rd Party player) fit this bill almost perfectly, and I'm pretty sure Mafia in previous games did as well. In fact, it seems to be a common tactic. Both potential tactics for choosing a lynchee (going after lurkers or going after active lurkers) have merit. But, the former has been known to be pretty faulty (I've seen many innocents lynched simply because they couldn't take the time to defend themselves, let alone post at all) while the latter helped net us victory in the last game. With that in mind, I'm going to Vote: Sweet, though I have my eye on a few others and may change my vote before the deadline if something else pans out. Now, Mr. Emoticon had an ace in the hole if this Sweet N Sour bandwagon materialized. At the end of Day One, it was this move that garnered some suspicion from me, because people were acknowleding their votes as *pressuring* Sweet N Sour. A 4th vote was really needed to pressure him? I then came after Sweet N Sour pretty hard to get him to step up and make me think otherwise. Of course, we all know how that turned out, because once the possiblity of him switching in for an inactive player came to fruition, it became rational to me that he could not possibly be Mafia. So once the case was made and a bandwagon of suspicion started to pile up, what happened? Mr. Emoticon could finally get on board with the other 6 or 7 that voted for more time because he was now safe. This is cited/alluded to on page 15 of the original thread with the post I made. So no, it's not like the theory came out of the blue here on Day Three. And what happens after I bring this up? Emoticon unvotes. After the D-2 lynch was reached: Those who didn't contribute and didn't vote are among the ones we need to look towards in the next Day Phase. And I kinda doubt D2 has any pro-Town power role. Remember, a Mafia member in the last game tried to pull the "don't lynch me, you need me" defense moments before being lynched, and we all know how that turned out. There's every chance that D2's claim has no more merit, and is just a last-ditch effort to either scare away voters or trick real power roles into stupidly coming forth to dismiss his claims. And then, this little bit of confusion . . . I gave you guys a fair warning. Now, it's time to look into those who killed me. Have fun with that. Personal pride should not come before serving the interests of the town. When you put yourself first, refusing to help the town simply because you don't like doing so in one manner or another, you have only yourself to blame when you get killed. Umm, isn't that exactly what happened with him on Day Three until the crazy amounts of pressure were put on? He could have saved us all a lot of time instead of changing tones and tapdancing so much. Tapdancing to an ABSURD extent for someone who is supposedly a non-power-role townie. It's at that point, I'm locked in on Emoticon. It may be a wrong vote. But given these early suspicions (not as standalone hunches as they once were) PAIRED with the Day Three posts by Emoticon and accusations at Emoticon, and I can't see anyone even close to earning my vote in comparison. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, with hopefully on one kill per night, we can get down to business and uncover a few more of these "rascals." I felt good about Jazzman and Mr. Emoticon. Now, I've got to rationalize a couple of hunches--and I stress the word HUNCHES--I have for Day Four.

pegasus -- why do you keep your information tightly sealed until after a lynch occurs?
It's great you are picking up on leads, and are seeing things that others aren't -- but why not come to the forefront with your information in order to help the town members lynch those that you have found proof to be scummy?
I understand if you don't want to reveal your entire playing card, but maybe just a nugget of information to show the town what you're thinking could work wonders, I think.
Then again, maybe you have been hinting at a lot of things, but I just never picked up on them.
I do wonder if we'll be seeing any counter claims being made during the next day phase, and it's looking like we are well on our way to victory now without a serial killer to worry about.

That big giant post you have had saved would have given me more to look into than asking for role claims =/. Why even bother now?
I go back to my idea earlier that Emoticon was trying to out a mafia to appear more townish, therefore I think his looks at Latino and Ravishing need to be taken as if he was a townie who suspected them.

We butted heads back and forth the first day, if you remember correctly. Why let me live if he had suspicions of me? truly, the serial killer would have an easier time winning the game if he was able to night kill those that he suspected as mafia -- if they flipped mafia, it would be easier for him to hide in the townspeople that were still left, and easier to pick his next victim. At least, that's what I think I would do as a serial killer.

...My gut says Emoticon is Enobaria... Now I know how Bundy might have felt when Emoticon claimed to be Snow. Since he wasn't mafia, then I feel I should drop the ritt suspicion for now and focus on someone else. My scum picks are Hayden, Scruffy, and... not sure. Meat and Sorceress are about even in my mind, and I have no opinion at all about Ravishing. I would still like to see D2's and pegasus' characters in the writeups before I put them on my town list.

I'll say this about roleclaiming: Anyone tries to roleclaim my town role, I'm challenging you to prove it.
Crud, I can understand how you'd think I was Mafia, I really do pal. But when I do flip town (be it nightkill or lynch, as waiting until the end would be a moot point), hopefully that'll put you on a different track to finding scum.
If we take me out of the equation (as I'll roleclaim if and only if it's necessary), that leaves:
Latino Meat Oblivion Sorceress Ravishing One Scruffy
As potentially Mafia, not including pegasus or D2's characters (who may or may not be mafia - Rajah.com). A name I see popping up from several players is Scruffy, while Meat has a pretty good defense, Oblivion is questionable, and Ravishing's all but vanished at this point. If we stick to this list and are able to root out one Mafia member, that should lead us onto the right track to winning this game.

It's not like he could claim that as it would show the Sk killing you. Now helping lead the town to a mafia member would definitely provide him a case as being pro-town and give him a longer leash to play on.
