We've just learned Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Los Angeles ... and we're told it was cardiac arrest and that paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance. He was picked up at his home around 20 minutes ago -- we're told his mother is on the way to visit him. UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A. www.tmz.com/Hope everything's okay for him...

If it was CPR that is very bad news.
CPR is performed on clinically dead people, and is only successful about 10% of the time.

Personal feelings aside, he was a HELL of a performer.

This is not good. not at all
I know its been cool to make fun of him for about the past decade(one could easily make the argument that much of that is his own doing), but no matter what he may have done or not done, regardless of how much of a weirdo he may be, no one can argue how great and influential his music was. Second only to maybe the Beatles or Elvis as far as influence goes.

Not only that but he made dancing in music videos a popular thing and revived the trend of certain songs having specific dance moves.

Jeez, this week sucks . Not that much of a fan of the music, but, love him or hate him, he is an INCREDIBLY interesting personality and he has children. The world's certainly a lot more interesting for him and he is a bonafide legend.

Before videos like Billie Jean and Thriller, look back at music videos. Usually it was a shots of a band performing, either in studio or an arena, with footage of hot girls and maybe cars cut in there. He was one of the first to make music videos about things other than just strictly the music.

When I went to Olympia to visit my sister the other week, I went to go eat in this little tiny "hole in the wall" diner, and they were playing a Jackson compilation album. It was awesome.
