So is it working for you?
Although Flair doesn't need a new gimmick to get over it's obvious that he's trying to get pops because people might feel sorry for him if he loses and retires.
So is it working? The whole I MIGHT RETIRE IF I LOSE thing? Does it make you go on the edge of your seat a tad more?

It's more interesting than before, where I just kind of assumed he was going to lose most of the time.

I do like it but i don't want to see Flair before every match say his goodbyes and looking like he is going to cry. That's not the Flair I enjoy. The angle is good but I would much rather see the heel Flair finish out his career than the cry for me Flair.

Well we already know it's going on till WM, and I love Flair, but I'm not thrilled with his retiring so I'm not gonna tune in to see things wind down. I will watch the tribute though if I find out about it.

Honestly, I don't have any interest in a Flair retirement storyline. I have a hard time sympathizing that a guy who should have retired (as an in-ring performer) 15 years ago might have to retire tonight because he lost to Umaga or Snitsky or whoever the monster of the week happens to be.
I think Flair should stay in the wrestling business forever, but he should be a manager or something. I don't need to see him wrestle. Apparently others do, so I don't blame WWE for doing this though.
EDIT: OK 15 years ago is an exaggeration... I guess maybe he should have stop wrestling at the end of WCW. His final match with Sting on Nitro would have been a perfectly fitting way to end his in-ring career.

It is not working for me because as ok as the storyline is its pretty see through and ric flair was being a total dbag last couple months so why even bother?

He shouldn't have to go out like this.

It doesn't take a degree in Professional Wrestling to see Flair will carry on til WrestleMania, so I'm not overly "worried" about him ending his career on a random RAW episode from Anywhere, USA...
Moreso, "retirement" in wrestling aren't forever (bar career ending injuries, and not even they are enough at times), so Flair will still stick around by hook or by crook, as he needs money and he's a wrestling junkie.
The angle is ok, but I'd rather see the crazy "eyeballs popping out of the sockets" Flair than the meek, on the verge of tears old Flair.

This angle's actually giving me some hope that this will finally be the time he hangs up his boots, since I know he's never going to leave WWE television completely.
I'd also rather see him act a little more aggressive in his face promos, but so far I don't mind.
If they are leading to him retiring at Wrestlemania, I hope that it's face-on-face, rather than something stupid like Vince wrestling him and beating/retiring him.

When I read the subject line, I thought people were chipping in and getting an actual sympathy card for Ric Flair.
Which I thought was really nice.

Actually there's rumors from 1990 that the NWA was pressuring Flair to hang up his boots and let Luger be his successor. So apparently someone thought he should have stopped almost 18 years ago.

I bet my life savings he's going to die before he retires.

I don't get it... so someone can just run in and hit flairs opponent who wins via DQ...
i hope he loses this way.

I kind of want him to lose. Whom ever does it gets an eternal bragging right...assuming he actually retires.
So of course, I don't expect it to happen like that.
