How about the Miz's Hoo Rah? I could hear the crowd do it, too, so it got over more than most of the ones mentioned here, but I guess it wasn't one of the best. From my memory of the live reports back then, I'm pretty sure they were yelling "you suck" back at him since he was a heel during most of his Smackdown! run.

not so much a catch phrase, more of a moniker, but man do i hate hearing about the rainbow haired warrior Someone had a "rainbow haired warrior" sign at the last RAW, which made me sad. They should just have "Jeff Hardy" signs so that moniker doesn't catch on. Speaking of nicknames, I might not mind it so much if they didn't say it so much, but I hate how they're shoving the "Glamazon" name down our throat. That match where Candice got hurt had a Glamazon count of 19, including this sequence:

A back and forth chant that Hacksaw and Super Crazy used a few times on Heat, and once on Raw. It would usually be followed by Hacksaw cheering on his Mexican teammate with a chant of "USA" against their American opponents. To make it worse, on RAW at least the chant went on for quite a while, even though the crowd wasn't really into it.

Rock's "How's your lips..." and "Popcorn Fart". Embarrassing. Yeah, pretty much. I didn't really like "the mood is about to change" for WWE Tazz.

How can this thread go past a single reply and not have any mention of "Y2CHEAP"?

I remember after Edge turned face in 2001, he tried getting "reeks of awesomeness" over in the lines of "and that's the bottom line..." and the crowd completely no sold it. He says it nice and slow for them to chime in and they just wouldn't bite. It was pretty embarassing. Thank goodness he got over despite it. I liked "Reek of Awesomness" . i still say it in conversations. So do I. The glory days of E&C will never die!

- DDP's "Hollywood SCUM Hogan" - DDP's "Good thing/Bad thing" crap. I was a HUGE mark for "That's not a BAD THING, that's - a GOOD THING!" I had just gotten back into WWF at the time and for some reason I immediately latched onto DDP; just something about his big goofy grin and his ridiculous catchphrases. As far as Shelton goes I think his new catchphrase is actually "The Gold Standard" and I kinda like it - nice double entendre on his golden hairdo.

Not a catchphrase as such, but during Kurt Angle's last face run in WWE, he tried to turn-around the "You Suck" chants that his music started, onto his opponents. I remember cringing watching the WWE's best wrestler stomp to the ring pointing at the Big Show miming "You Suck" to his music. Urrrghh.

Pretty much any Rock-ish ripoff, Where they just seem to be trying to amp themselves up in a Rock-esque fashion. Juice's stuff was funny, in my book on the sorta Gillberg level of wrestling humor. Monty Brown's about the only other guy I think who could truly pull off this attitude without seeming an impostor.
But namely Russo's Booker push where he'd come out saying "Save The Drama For Yo Momma", "Don't Hate The Playa Hate The Game", "Come on homie, don't you know me?"
Oh, and Sid's "Momma say it be that way sometimes".
Come to think of it... WCW had too much emphasis on mommas... what with Ernest Miller wanting people to call his and Judy Bagwell hanging around.

Ya ok thats's why the fans still say it to this day. More's the pity. It sucked then, and it sucks now. I'm not saying it didn't suck, but we are only what a few thousand on a keyboard. Compared to let's say an arena full of 7,000 people. We are the minority, and always will be.

Ya ok thats's why the fans still say it to this day. More's the pity. It sucked then, and it sucks now. And you are perfectly entitled to believe that. However, the vast majority of fans (the ones at the events) love it, maybe even a little too much, as they often say it during promos they find boring, completely distracting the points of the promos.

Regarding Jeff Hardy: did you ever hear Don West try to FORCE over the phrase: 'charismatic enigma' regarding the dug-addled spotmonkey himself?
Hardy may be an enigma - ie will the spot machine turn up, or the unmotivated ('wellness-related) botchmeister show up? - but charismatic? I beg to differ.....

The funniest was the face vs face match with Rey where he aimed the chants at Rey and Rey being ever so face-ish just stood there with his head down and took it.

"Don't hate the playa, hate the game!" That's my No. 2 choice. My No. 1 is ... "THAT"S NOT JUST THE COOLEST ... THAT'S NOT JUST THE BEST ... THAT'S JUSTIN CREDIBLE."Just weak all the way around. I still don't understand how that guy eventually came to be accepted in ECW. winning
