Much like my Magnum T.A. admiration thread, here's another one where I give credit to a guy I really liked as a kid- I may do these on a regular basis, we'll see. The first ever battle royale I ever saw, the Iceman won, beating such guys as Kamala, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the Sheepherders and the One Man Gang. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Parsons

He was great as a face or a heel, and I thought he had the best mic skills out of anyone in WCCW.
He was bad ass, and one of my faves growing up.

When he and Tiger Conway Jr. were teaming in Texas All-Star, he'd always have the kids come into the ring to dance with them or start a, well, dunno what to call it, like a congo line, of us all. Fun times.

one of my favorites from WCCW. Doens't get the respect he desearves when it comes to african/american workers. Did very good promos and his matches were fun to watch. His feud wih Buddy Jack Roberts was a good one. Wonder what he is up to now??

The Blackbirds (His teaming with another underrated talent, Brickhouse Brown) were awesome.

One of the first wrestling shows I ever seen on TV had Iceman & Brian Adias beat the Super Destroyers for the American tag titles.
He won the titles with his infamous "butt-butt", the move that Goldust would steal from him some 12-14 years later.
I miss that rooty poot.

I'm all for these.....gotta show the new fans, why we are old fans.

I loved when he feuded with Chris Adams and he would always refer to him as a 'jailbird'

Gotta love Iceman King Parsons. I always wanted him to show in Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW.
And I'm all for sharing the old school with the newer fans. It may not be "better" to all of them, but odds are that a lot of them will find something they like.

Groovy, this may become a weekly thing for me. I've got a list of about two or three I want to get to, but if anyone has any particular older guy they'd like to see represented, drop me a line.
