Why has no one listed the famous stuff like the Funkin Conservatory, Harley Race's school and other things mentioned in the original "I want to be a pro wrestler"-type thread. I was fairly active in that one. Well, he asked about ones in Tennessee, so we're keeping it local.

If you don't know who she is. ..she'sa wrestler who started in the late 60s at the age of 14, no bigger than me and now she's 6'0" and now competes in the senior olympics, lol. I was going to runaway and go to her school 2 years ago.

Sherri Martel was working a lot of indies around here before she died, and someone (I think Dennis Condrey) said she's the one who got the Midnight Express reunion together. I have to wonder what training under Sherri would have been like.

I think it was Bobby Heenan who was talking about how all the managers now were women who didn't really do anything (especially in WWE), and how there was no payoff. He explained how by the end, the face would finally get their hands on him or Jimmy Hart, etc., and the fans would love it. He said something like "No one wants to see a male wrestler beat up a woman manager. Unless it's Sherri Martel, who could kill anyone"
That amused me greatly.

Some woman out there has got to dare to be scary like a Sherri.

And Heenan is totally correct.
Hell, the only valet I'm aware of in the WWE is Booker's wife......right?

Just out of interest, are there any renowned wrestling schools in the UK? I've never really heard of any being mentioned for a long, long time.

I would highly recommend WWA4 in Atlanta. I have never been there but they have a really good reputation.

For all the stuff we see going on in the professional world, it astounds me people would actually waste their time with these schools. I mean, if you don't make it to the WWE, you're pretty much screwed. I saw that list of salaries of WWE guys from a couple years ago, and for what they spend on meals, hotels, and rental cars, I can't see the salary justifying it.
