At least they framed this Pacman angle in a way where they can get the names of Sting and Kurt Angle out into the media as associated with TNA. In the past, when TNA gets coverage like this, the athlete's involved with someone along the level of "Diamonds in the Rough", which makes TNA look even more bush league to outsiders.

Ok, this is good for TNA. However, I still hate that he is not allowed to wrestle and think that he is a waste of time and money in the end.

"Adam "Pacman" Jones can call himself a pro wrestling tag team world champion, even though his only wrestling move was to cover a wrestler knocked out by someone else."
LOL!

True, but I don't think even marks know all that much about Pacman Jones to care. I'm sure a good number of them do, but I don't think it's enough to get a great deal of interest.

This is completely burried in the sports section and you had to do significant digging or be looking specifically for it.
The fact remains the same and always will be that Pacman Jones is not even close to being a celebrity or superstar in the NFL. He's some punk who was involved in a shooting that left a guy paralyzed. The only reason his name is known is because a) It's Pacman b) He's the poster child for what's wrong in the NFL and being made an example of buy the new Commish of the league. He likely has very few fans outside of Tenessee or West Virginia, and if you were going to get any Titan fans to watch, Wycheck would've already done that for TNA.
Mainstreams sports is laughing at him and wrestling, not giving anyone exposure. It was a joke for a day and now it's just something to mock when it gets so ridiculous, as this was.

That line illustrates exactly why Pacman isn't worth the trouble.

So, TNA is bad cause the media hasn't heard of them? The same media that thought Davey Boy Smith was Owen Hart? That though going from the 4 horsemen to the WWF's Radicals was a demotion? TNA aren't stupid, the media are.

TNA aren't stupid, the media are. If even people in the media who have no idea what's going on in the company can figure out that having a guy who can't wrestle win titles is dumb, you know you're in trouble.

So, TNA is bad cause the media hasn't heard of them? The same media that thought Davey Boy Smith was Owen Hart? That though going from the 4 horsemen to the WWF's Radicals was a demotion? TNA aren't stupid, the media are. I'm not sure if that was directed at me, but I field it as if it were... And, as a preface, I'm answering this as a fan of the NFL. TNA is stupid in this instance because.... 1) They're trying to gain attention by employing an individual who is not a well-known celebrity/athlete. Instead, they employ an individual who is pretty much ostrasized from the sport and widely disliked for his actions on and off the field. There are very few who would actually care about him and they'd like only tune in if he gets beat up, seeing he contractually can't.....who cares? 2) They're trying to get a specific group from the media to pay attention to them, despite the fact its clear that the same media thinks wrestling is a joke and TNA is a small, 3rd rate outfit. Getting articles that basically state you're an organization with a small fanbase and low viewership (as was done numerous times on ESPN and NFL radio) is not getting the word out. It's allowing individuals who would otherwise not even mention you mock your orgaization. Especially when there's no mention of when the show is on and very little mention of "TNA" (instead, "3rd rate rasslin' company/sideshow at a carnival") 3) They're trying to attract fans who likely aren't going to watch wrestling to begin with. Again, wrestling is "fake" to a lot of people and that's not going to change. Having it being mocked on ESPN and everything else isn't going to instill the notion for NFL fans to watch. Only laugh and think it's a bigger joke than it actually is. So, there it is. TNA is employing an individual very few care about to try and gain attention from a media that doesn't care what they are, but sure will take the time to mock them to a fanbase that could careless to begin with. It's clear even in this article that they think its a joke and are mocking it. It's a waste of money and effort.
