Thank you, I've always wanted to see that match. I wasn't there, but I used to go to a lot of WWF event in Montreal when I was young.
I remember one time when Henry Godwinn tried to throw his bucket crap on Crush but he moved out of the way and the crap hitted some fans. I think Crush even laughed.

shows that Hogan can be a stand up guy once in a while and when I say once in a while that means once every 100 years or so. Still cool to see! You make it sound like he's never done that before. And besides, it's not like he has to lose every single time anyways, he's one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. He's not as bad as people around these parts would paint him out to be.

Didn't look like one to me, meh. Anyways, it's not like people haven't typed that up and were dead serious about it such as I've seen in recent weeks.

Thanks for uploading the video, Hiroshi Hase. I had no idea any footage even existed of this match.
Obviously, they never mentioned the loss on WCW TV, but I remember the Apter mags making a big deal about it being the first time Hogan had been pinned cleanly in years. It may have been the first time he was pinned cleanly since he joined WCW. I'm not 100% positive of that though.

And really?? Hulk Hogan is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time? HOLY crap! Really!!?!?! I did not know that! Man, it's not like I've been watching wrestling for the past 24 years or anything. Man, I'm glad we have people like you to tell us Hogan was popular. Now I know. Whew. I'll sleep better. Now only if that new guy Ric Flair would learn to wrestle he might be something! Apparently it needs to be re-told as some underestimate it and think that he should've put over every guy that came through those ropes. Glad I could be of assistance to you ;D Glad you'll sleep better at night, it's quite good to know that little tidbit of information.

It was, as Hogan was put to sleep by Piper at Starrcade 96, but never actually pinned till this match with Rougeau. I didn't know about it till last year when I was reading results from house shows and came across it.

Yeah, I remember watching Starrcade '96 on PPV and being disappointed in the bait and switch. Everyone thought Piper won the title, but then they did the whole "we never said it was a title match" thing. That was the very first WCW PPV that I watched live.
EDIT: I just realized that I'm thinking of Halloween Havoc '97, not Starrcade '96.

Surprising to see a lifetime midcarder defeat a lifetime main eventer. Now I can say that I saw the Mountie really enforce the law on someone who deserved it; too bad heleft his shockstick in the WWF.

I was there !
Other matches included...
Pierre-Carl Ouellet vs The Giant Chris Jericho vs Jeff Jarrett Harlem Heat vs The Faces of Fear Lex Luger vs Steve McMichael
The crowd popped like crazy for Hogan and a large part of the Molson Centre was booing Rougeau and he was legitimately disappointed with the turn of events. The card featured matches with some local talents and the last matches were the ones with the WCW stars in them.

I remember reading that in the Apter mags and never thought that there was actual footage of it. Who were the camera guys? They seemed to know the finish already.
