I watch TNA pretty regularly, and I don't understand why AJ Styles has been pushed so far down the card. He was the face of the entire show before they signed the WWE guys. He and Joe were putting on great matches. They should be the top feud for the world title right now.
So my question is, what happened? I watch TNA now and he's just Christians lackey who can't win matches without cheating or having a bigger partner. He's totally out of the title picture and is basically in a midcard tag team with Tomko. It's frusterating because of what he's done before in the main event, and now it seems like he can't get a push at all.
I love WWE and I'm a fan of TNA, but I'm sick of seeing guys like Rhyno, BG James, Kip James, Black Reign, Nash, Sting, Team 3D, and even the Steiners. I watch TNA to see new guys that are exciting and some of the older guys that can still go and aren't living the same gimmicks that they were ten years ago.
Guys like Christian and Angle were great pickups because they can go and have both made some changes to their gimmicks to stay fresh. I watch TNA now for guys like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, LAX, Shelly, Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Black Machismo, etc.

I wonder this too. I love AJ and his current character still really entertains me, I find him hilarious but he should totally be in the title picture.

a.j. is a bigger tna star than rhyno, bg james, kip james, black reign, nash, team 3d and even the steiners. he is not just a mid card tag team member. he main events or sub main events quite regularly and has a very good chance of becoming tag team champion again tomorrow. i think he is doing pretty well, sure pushed down the card some but not as much as some seem to describe.
i understand people saying he is just an ex wwe guys lackey, but at the same time he is extremely good at the role and gets a good amount of air time as such. in wwe christian was usually treated as a lackey as well, and it worked for him. i think the character works for a.j. so it doesn't bother me really.

I never really cared for A.J. Styles before the aligned him with Christian, I appreciated his wrestling ability, but his lack of personality always left me not really carrying about his character, but every since his heel turn and his role as Christian Cages lacky I've really gotten behind him, but it's saddens me that he's pratically used as a jobber now.

I dunno, TNA seems to still consider him one of their top stars based on their ads for Impact. He still gets a lot of air time with the added bonus of him being extremely funny in his role. Theres also the very real possibility of him being half of the Tag Champs come tomorrow. He may not be the #1 guy in TNA but he's still top tier.

I wish I had that kind of curtain jerking spot, myself.

i don't really need to see AJ in the ME scene. I loved him most when feuding with Daniels over the X title and then even more when they teamed up last year.
