I just got Good Times, Great Memories on DVD for my birthday (along with several other ROH DVDs, a Zach Galifinakis DVD, Chris Jericho's book, and the new Zelda game for DS, but I digress...). I have a few ROH DVDs already, but my main exposure to the company has been the pay-per-views. The first segment up was a Jimmy Jacobs interview, and after it was finished, my first thought was:
"Wow. Jimmy Jacobs is really mediocre on the microphone."
Was it an off night? Is there another interview that I should be watching before I judge the guy? I remember seeing the footage where the Age of the Fall strung up one of the Briscoes, and while the image of Jimmy being drenched in blood was amazing, the actual promo he gave was really underwhelming. He just doesn't seem comfortable with the mic.
The Age of the Fall stuff sounds really intriguing as far as a storyline goes, but I can't help but be put off by the fact that the mouthpiece of the group seems awkward doing public speaking.

I didn't dig his promo on GTGM either to be honest, though I did like the AOTF stuff so far.
If you want what may be his best work, there is a two part promo spread across the end of All Star Extravaganza III, and Supercard of Honor II where he talks about his feud with BJ Whitmer. Amazing, amazing stuff there.

jimmy jacobs is hit or miss on the mic. his "Big Brother" promo is amazing, but the AOTF was eh. he's either really on, or its an off night.

they honestly should just have necro do the promos for age of the fall... but that'd be kinda weird because he has a southern accent.
