one thing that should be added, it's not like these guys he "stole" were jobbers from the get-go. Most of the guys Bischoff got from ECW he pushed early. THe only guys who were probably bad hires were Bam Bam,Whipwreck, and Hak (all guys that were hired while Bischoff was starting to get fed up with the new corporate attitude in the company. Awesome was actually a good hire, but that was a Russo mess-up.

Everyone has this mentality that your career means nothing unless you're on American broadcast television, which I've always thought was bunk. Since when did rating measure the quality of a career? A lot of independent wrestlers have certaintly "made it" taking into account how many people all over the world have seen them wrestle. But I wouldn't mind seeing some of them on the national stage (and not jobbed out too badly) just for them to be able to say that they've done it. It's not the end-all-be-all, but it's a pretty feather in someone's cap.

Well, it's WWE never fully giving Eric Bischoff the respect and credit he deserves, because for I'd say a good 2 years.....he was delivering a FAR better product than WWE, and the ratings reflected that.
WWE will never accept any other possibility than "Well, Eric was using WWE guys/characters, and THAT's the only reason he beat us," but that's BS.

Poor Briscoe, That one dvd makes me laugh every time I see him now. Yeah, you can tell that the A$$ kissing stooge he played on WWE television was probably NOT that far off from his natural personality.

JR was just as stupid for saying Goldberg was the only star WCW made during that era.
Yeah, it looks like that on this DVD, mostly because you never once showed DDP, Sting, Booker T or Scott Steiner.

In fairness Sting and Scott Steiner were both made prior to the Monday night wars.

Yeah, but when JR was making the comparison between the two companies, he counted the 'reinvented Undertaker' as one of the WWF made stars of that era. Therefore "Crow Sting" and "Big Poppa Pump" should have counted for WCW.
And not mentioning DDP during the WCW segments of the Monday Night Wars would be the same as not mentioning Mick Foley during the WWF segments.

Its the little guy feeling he is wronged by the corporate giant.
Its like Wal-Mart "stealing" customers from the mom and pop stores.

Only an idiot that listens to everything Paul Heyman says as truth thinks he stole talent from ECW.
The facts, ECW was a small indy promotion that Eric hardly knew of other then business dealing gone sour.
He was big into New Japan though and basically took any good Gaijin wrestler in NJPW. While at the same time creating an alliance with them.
He did however much later raid there talent, in 98/99 but that was years after being blamed of it.
