Is anyone surprised that TNA has lasted as long as it has? A friend and myself were talking about this the other day. It's easy to talk negatively about TNA, but it's a testament to them that they've made it this far.

Yes. When it first started with the weekly PPVs I honestly didn't think it would last a month.

I thought at first it was just a WCW ripoff....but i was completely blown away by the X-Division and some of the moves some of the guys were doing and the matches they were putting on. I too didnt think it would last even one year...but it did. And people can bad mouth them all they want but besides a couple of things I feel that their product is getting better.

When I saw an announcement for it in my ppv guide, I thought it was one of those highlight shows, kinda like the WWE Fanatic Series.
I thought they were gonna be dead within 3 weeks of leaving FSN and I was surprised they survived.
A tip of the hat to a company that has lasted 5 years longer then most thought.

I'm certainly surprised. With all the insane decisions they've made, I would've expected them to go under years ago. I guess that makes them a true testament of perserverance.

Despite lapses in judgment in booking/product direction they do keep trudging forward. PPV-crappy Friday-afternoon spot on FSN, late-night Saturday, late-night Thursday, primetime Thursday, and now two-hours in primetime.
While they are not booming, they are taking very respectable baby-steps forward.

hoping they only get harder...better....faster...stonger Great, now both of those songs are going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Damn Daft Punk, damn Kanye West, and damn you! Oh, and congrats, TNA--or something.

It's a testament to the power of money marks like Panda Energy is what it is.

There should be a TNA respective video made with "you're the best" playing in the back ground

There should be a TNA respective video made with "you're the best" playing in the back ground It should just be the Panda Energy logo with that song playing. And then the last five seconds could be Dixie Carter and Jerry Jarrett giving a thumbs up and winking.

I think they've lasted a decent length, but their fight is far from over.

Yeah its a real good thing. They grew fast. Its sad how bad the show quality and lockerroom morale has gone down. Remember BFG 06? Everyone was excited. Shows were good. People were being used right and it seemed that the employee moralle was why higher...

How TNA has been around five years is amazing. Seeing the induction of the first few TNA shows, that promotion should have gone away a long time ago. Plus with the whole show was centered around Jeff Jarrett getting over at the expense of the NWA really didn't help. The X-Division and guys like AJ, Daniels, Low Ki, Amazing Red(whatever happend to him?)Sabin, Kazarian and any other guys from that time that are still there are being buried behind the big name superstars. Hmmm. sounds like WCW all over again.
I really believe that TNA has 3 more years since they never have turned a profit and when Panda Energy sees how they're bleeding money and take their ball and go home, that promotion will die.

I've been a TNA fan since it started, and been reading that sine then too. No-one knows how much TNA makes or loses, they never have. People speculate and sometimes even straight up make figures up. But when it comes down to it, the only people who know what TNA's finances are like, is TNA.

most of us agree here on who should be the center of the tna shows. we have our competitors we all enjoy. i was just thinking however do you think tna would be two hours at this point in their career if they hadn't gone out and gotten people like angle? if the whole company was focused on joe and styles and they never got ex wwe guys and so forth would they be this popular? just a discussion i had with my friend while watching impact thought i would get the opinions here.

That's a good point. If TNA would just cater to the internet, a TV show would be disaterous.
