When somebody here posted the episode of that WWE 24/7 show with the roundtable on WCW vs. WWF, I saw clips of this promo, and eventually found the full one on YouTube. youtube.com/watch?v=eLi8iveKLDYIt struck me while I was watching this that THESE are the kinds of promos I'd love to see in wrestling again. Granted, these are three great talkers, but the feel is still there. Especially for its time, look at how advanced this promo feels. So ahead of its time in a lot of ways. Also, "maniacal Hogan" is outrageous to me. His facial expressions make him come across as an evil genius/borderline psychopath, and it works beautifully.

I always felt Hogan hammed it up too much, but other than that, I liked them a lot.

Awesome. The WCW guys just looked old fashioned compared to the nWo.

Isn't it ironic how when they first debuted they were booked as these young up starts, the new blood? And by the end, they were dominated by all the old farts and were a big part of what destroyed WCW.

"500,000 Barrumbah! Harley Davidsons by their side" / Thats my favorite part! I liked the "It's the new way, is that okay?" part myself. I loved those promos. I also loved Hogan's "evil laugh" when Hall was talking about who might be joining next. Those three together was instant chemistry. I will always have a soft spot for the nWo (Hogan, Hall, and Nash). I was so turned off by wrestling in 1996 that I gave up after Royal Rumble that year. Then I found out Razor and Diesel were invading WCW, and Hogan turned heel, and bam.....I was right back into it. The nWo saved me as a wrestling fan, at least until 2004 when I stopped again.

These promos were so ahead of their time... so amazing. I still find them to be classic and some of the best wrestling footage to ever be recorded.

I really got tired of hearing Hogan say "the WCW." It's "WCW," moron!

I still laugh at that part when Hogan's laughing maniacally and going, "Wait...I almost forgot something REALLY important! I'm supposed to wrestle the Giant! I FORGOT!!! It slipped my mind!"
Hogan was so freaking awesome in that angle. Good stuff.

The nWo remains the greatest angle/stable/heels ever. Granted, that's just my opinion, but I'm pretty sure it's true.

The nWo remains the greatest angle/stable/heels ever. Granted, that's just my opinion, but I'm pretty sure it's true. It's true. By the time that the nWo rolled around, I was a Senior in high school. I was past the point of genuinely hating any characters and I just loved watching wrestling in general. I was always a huge WCW fan though. So, when the nWo came in and were trying to destroy WCW, I actually genuinely hated them and everything they stood for. I was so behind WCW in the war that I was buying merchandise and everything, something that I never did, not even as a kid. They made the wrestling industry fun again after the horrible year that was 1995 (excluding ECW; 1995 was a great year for them). On a side note, I was such a huge WCW fan, that when Vince McMahon cut the promo on the last Nitro and got to the line about "putting WCW on the shelf" I actually threw my shoe at the TV. I was that pissed off.

Even if they did have some supporters, they got tons of heel heat at the Nitros/PPVs to counter that. One of my favorite nWo heel moments was War Games 1996 when Hogan spit on Elizabeth. I actually found the clip (thank goodness for YouTube). www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_BvLRHbKnQThey were fantastic heels, and definitely the best stable in wrestling history IMO. They got cheers because the wrestling landscape was changing. It became cool to cheer for the bad guys in 1996, and the nWo really started that trend in mainstream wrestling.
