we hear countless stories of how he never drank or did drugs. which is highly commendible considering his life style. but is it just me or did he have a body that looked like it was enhanced by "something"?
I mean look at bret. They are brothers so they have the same genetics and Owen was a little bigger than Bret at times. Bret has admitted to taking roids. So wouldn't that mean Owen was on them too?

(IWC Fan Mode) MAH GOD f*** YOU! HE'S NO LONGER WITH US! HE WOULD HAVE BEEN WORLD CHAMPION 2000 TIMES! HE WAS CLEAN AS A WHISTLE YOU DOUCHE BAG! (/IWC Fan Mode)
I think he might dabbled in it. Lot's of people during that time frame did.

Lot's of people during that time frame did. that's what I was thinking. the question just popped into my head last night and has been eatting away at me. strange that someone would stay away from alcohol and drugs yet inject himself with steroids. would he be old enough to have done it when steroids were"legal"?

He probably did. Most wrestlers from that era were using some sort of performance enhancing substance.

I've never heard anything, but I imagine that he probably took something, at least once. Back in the '80's, it was normal for wrestlers to do that.
But I don't think he would've taken anything when he started raising a family. Owen cared about them more than anything.

I think Bret experimented with steroids during the early Hart Foundation days. Owen never appeared to be somebody who used enhancements.

i think it's a pretty interesting question.
no cheatting on his wife no drugs no drinking huge family man super nice guy did everyting within the law.
It would be weird to find out he was juicing but you got to admit he had a pretty big build

It would be weird to find out he was juicing but you got to admit he had a pretty big build He had a very natural looking physique. If you lift weights regularly like I do you can tell who the juiceheads are and who the naturals are pretty easily. Let's not forget that Owen also wanted to one day become a fireman whenever he chose to leave the business, so it's not a big surprise that he wanted to live a healthy, steady life.

As a painkiller and such, I"m sure he probably used it occasionally in the past, though I doubt he did much more than that. He looked pretty natural and even if he did use it, neither him nor Bret were ever all that big (relative to the extreme WWE muscleheads) and Bret admitted to some use. But I don't think he was ever a regular user if he did use anything at all

He looked pretty natural to me, but I wouldn't hold it against him if he did. He wasn't at Scott Steiner-esque levels or anything.

I'd say he didn't take them to the extent of some people (Masters, Vince, HHH) but if he did use them, he probably used them more for being able to work than doing it to look bigger. Know what I mean?

I can't honestly say he's a guy I don't see using roids, at least not to the extent that most guys use them.
A little off topic, but I always like to note how amazing it is that in a business that's full of bullcrap, backfighting, and pettiness, that I've never heard ANYONE say a bad thing about Owen. Bret, Foley, hell, even Austin, the guy who got his neck broke by Owen, never really said anything bad about him other than "it was kind of a dumb thing for him to do." That says volumes about the man.

Not to be contrary, but it may be due to the nature of his death sweetening. It's still taboo to trash Eddie, and it's known he was falling back towards his demons.
Not saying it's impossible that Owen was a perfect saint, but very few are, if any.
Just a little devil's advocacy or whatever you want to call it. I never knew the guy, so eh.

Agreed. I'm sick of these witch hunts for steroid users. As if someone injecting themselves with something by their own choice is the worst thing in the world. When I find out a wrestler is running around stabbing other people with steroid needles, I'll have a problem with them.

I don't think so. Back in Owen's main hayday, that's when they were really hardcore with the steroid testing. Not to say there were other drugs, but I don't think he used steroids.
When steroids were really big with the company, where you had to be on them in order to be successful, Owen was just a job guy. Overtime, you didn't need to be on steroids, which is the time we are in now (though people still use them).

When I find out a wrestler is running around stabbing other people with steroid needles, I'll have a problem with them. That's definitely true. It's the same with any drug. Anything taken more then the recommended dose, or even if not perscribed can be a bad thing. I smoked some weed for a bit, and I know for sure it's as bad for your lungs as regular smoking, if not worse because there's no filter. People will have their issues, and some people won't. People need to realize though that when it comes to in ring ability, steroids will not help. It's only for look (and well, for healing injuries in some cases).

Owen was afflicted by that other natural condition - body fat. Sure he was a slim man, but he was podgy from 1997 to the end.
I don't know about steoids, but I do know that Owen was the exemplifaction of a wrestler's 'look'. Not a roid head, but stand him next to the common man, he's still massive. Unlike CM Punk. I don't have anything against him, but anyone that thin, I can't buy as a wrestler.
