1st: in pro wrestling, the cleanest man has herpes Jokes aside, it's impossible surviving (physically surviving I mean) without the aid of some substances. 2nd: who cares? It was his choice anyway 3rd: dead wrestlers (and persons for that matter) becoming instantly 10x better (as performers and as human beings) is very annoying.

The worst thing I ever heard about Owen was his wife saying, "He had very ugly feet."

I can't honestly say he's a guy I don't see using roids, at least not to the extent that most guys use them. A little off topic, but I always like to note how amazing it is that in a business that's full of bullcrap, backfighting, and pettiness, that I've never heard ANYONE say a bad thing about Owen. Bret, Foley, hell, even Austin, the guy who got his neck broke by Owen, never really said anything bad about him other than "it was kind of a dumb thing for him to do." That says volumes about the man. actually in austins book he says things like. "After he broke my neck I never found him to be funny anymore." "I know If I broke a guys neck I'd be calling him every damn day and he never called me once" nothing really to bad but still.

He never partied so he might of just been in the gym a ton. He had switched from a high flying style, where being lean was to his benefit, to being ground based, so he might of bulked up to fill the role.
Who knows? He oculd of been on it, but he might not of been. It's tough to say.

Well, based on personal opinion and some of the things in Bret's book, I doubt he ever abused steroids. Not saying he never used them as he did have a run in the Fed when everyone there still was, but if he did he likely was clean by the time his 2nd run started. That being said, he wasn't straight edge, he did drink occasionally, and Bret mentions smoke a joint with him a couple times in his biography, but also says that the drinking was very rare for Owen, but never really elaborates on the pot.

I only have one opinion on the subject.
You don't know somebody, unless you know them.
And no, somebody else feeding you stories does not constitute a "know".
Too many "squeaky clean" people are that way because they hide things well. Not because they are actually as clean as they show themselves as.

I was surprised to read in Bret Hart's book that Owen smoked a joint with Bret. I always thought Owen was totally clean, but in the book, Bret says he nagged and nagged Owen into finally letting his hair down for once and smoking a joint with him. So who knows? Owen had a really bad knee injury too, and steroids are often perscribed to help with the recovery.

Not to focus too much on this, but I find it ironic that Austin said that despite the fact that he pretty much did the same thing to Masahiro Chono with an awkward looking piledriver years before in Japan. Chono's neck was never really the same afterwards. Wonder if Austin calls Chono up every day?

I don't smoke or drink, but I have smoked pot with a friend or two on occassion if the opportunity comes up. Usually they'll be bummed out, and I'm just keeping them company.

Owen was afflicted by that other natural condition - body fat. Sure he was a slim man, but he was podgy from 1997 to the end. I don't know about steoids, but I do know that Owen was the exemplifaction of a wrestler's 'look'. Not a roid head, but stand him next to the common man, he's still massive. Unlike CM Punk. I don't have anything against him, but anyone that thin, I can't buy as a wrestler. I don't think Punk's that thin. Well, he's thin but still has enough mass to have believable impact on a large heavyweight (but not a Vader/BDV type, however). Same with Owen. As far as he's concerned, if word got out confirming that he had dabbled with steroids, I wouldn't be shocked. Wouldn't greatly affect how I thought of him though, since he's sadly no longer with us.

Yeah, Punk isn't exactly thin (people keep calling him chubby even). He doesn't really look it on TV, but when you're standing in a room with him, the dude has some massive legs (no homo).

What can possibly be gay about mentioning that some dude has massive legs? What's next? Triple H has a giant nose (no homo), Scott Steiner has giant veins (no homo), Samoa Joe is chubby (no homo)? Back ontopic: I think back in the late 90s everyone was on steroids. You had to be on steroids to not looks like a totally scrawny jabroni next to a rather average guy like Bagwell (roided up monster), not to mentions big guys like Sid, Goldberg or Steiner (super roided up monsters). Today the average wrestler is back to guys like Jarrett, who look thin and small next to those massive roid abusers.

Matt Hardy is your average sized roid-free (an assumption) wrestler. That's how big a wrestler should be IMO. I've seen plenty of pics of Punk and the fans, and he just doesn't stand out.
