Got to love how the announcer said MOOOOOOORE. Anyway Masters looks alot healthier. Let's see if he gets better from his experience.

The Masterlock is in Japan! And if Ryuji Yanagisawa can't break it...no one can!
Prepare, Japan, to be dominated!
Honestly though, decent match. Nice to see he's still using the Full Nelson, since it was really well-established in the WWE. Still room for improvement, but I suppose he is in the right place to learn.

If Tomko is any indication, time spent in Japan can be a real boon for a young wrestler. Hopefully Masters can improve his game as well.

I've always read that Masters is very talented, but wasn't given much of a chance to show it while with the WWE. His clotheslines looked pretty solid; they look much better than his Polish Hammer, IMO. He looks a lot slimmer, and is defenitly off the juice.

I'm predicting that this will be for the best for a young guy like masters. A lot of people said it was impossible for him to get better as a wrestler.
I hope he proves those people wrong

Never been a big fan, but I hope he proves people wrong, too.
The WWF completely wrote the guy off, but hell, guys like Rick Rude, Road Warrior Hawk, and Scott Hall started off as juiced up muscleheads that couldn't work worth a crap, and transformed into pretty darn good workers after five or six years in the business. Even Luger got decent by the time he hit his prime (say, 1989-93), before regressing during his last WCW run.
Masters has youth on his side, so he's still got a shot to be decent.

I think that Japan has always worked wonders for younger guys in need of better skill (Tomko being a good indicator) so this will probably be good for Masters

Good deal, I've always liked Masters, so hopefully he'll go the Tomko/Giant Bernard route and really step up his game and come back to the States a lot better.

See, kids, that's how you kill someone dead with a clothesline. And was he pleading ignorance about the arm wrapped around the ropes (around 8:18)? Nice touch if he was. Here's also hoping he takes the opportunity to soak up everything he can there and improve.

I'm not up to my WWE TV watching (because it's bleh) but did anyone ever end up winning the Masterlock Challenge?

I'm not up to my WWE TV watching (because it's bleh) but did anyone ever end up winning the Masterlock Challenge? Bobby Lashley on the "Road to Wrestlemania" build broke the Masterlock on Raw and then beat Masters the next night on ECW. At least they hyped the fact that it took a fresh Bobby Lashley to be able to break the move, making it seem like a battle worn opponent (from a match) would have a very little chance of success.
