First, hats off to Geoff Johns and crew for putting together,
in my opinion, the BEST comicbook story I've read in my life!
Geoff has truely made ALOT of guys who didn't care about
Green Lantern add this book to their pull list.
Back on topic though, do you guys think it was better
than World War Hulk, Messiah Complex, Civil War?

Hell yeah, it was an awesome story. Makes me anxious for 2009. Waaaaay better than hulk war, or civil war.

This is the one book that I automatically said that I would wait for the trade paperback because I couldn't stand waiting for the next issue. I still haven't read it yet.

These are the kind of GL stories I've been waiting decades for... thank you Mr. Johns.

Geoff Johns instantly makes any book that he's writing 100% better.

Geoff Johns instantly makes any book that he's writing 100% better. Yeah, his mini run on Avengers was pretty good. I know DC is probably gonna try to keep him there as long as possible. His stories break new ground and are fresh. I'd like to see him revamp the X franchise or take a shot at Marvel's Ultimate line.

I'm definitely copping this trade when it drops as well. I want to see the extras like the sketches, the un-used art, etc., The artwork was top notch as well.

As a GL fan, I feel oblidged to get this when it comes out in Trade.
It looks great from everything I've seen so I'm looking forward to it.

The only thing that gets me is that it feels like Blackest Night is trying to ride the Marvel Zombies coattails. That said, I have faith in Geoff to create a well-done tale.
BTW, did anyone notice that the land mass in the one piece of artwork looks like the tail end of Batman's logo?

yeah this one is one where Ill be buying the Hardcovers as soon as they come out, esp. since the trade will take forever to come out (DC STILL hasn't released Infinite Crisis in trade yet lol) but it is far and away the best story of 2007. it kinda had to be, though, so much f***ing CRAP came out this year (I'm looking at YOU, One More Day and World War Hulk)

Waiting for the trade, as I'm not picking up monthlies. Sounds awesome, and I'm a big, big GL fan. Please tell me one thing, without spoilers... does Alan Scott feature at all? He's my favourite hero.

he does, the JSA are among the first superheroes to respond when the Corps arrives on earth. they then all get their asses handed to them (again) by Superman-Prime, who then also rips off Risk's OTHER arm lol.

Why are the JSA generally the go-to guys for getting a whuppin' to put over how badass someone is?

because they're awesome and it's understood that if someone can take down the JSA, they are a legitimate threat? it's like how WWE uses Kane.

Not even close. Good story, and good art, but it wouldn't even sniff my top ten.
