You can be charged with filing a false police report, especially if you know it's false. Obviously, this guy was just trying to get some group of people arrested and made up a story. Too bad he's a total moron.

i thought it was funny to have this light-hearted "dumb criminal" story, then end it with this:

You can be charged with filing a false police report, especially if you know it's false. Obviously, this guy was just trying to get some group of people arrested and made up a story. Too bad he's a total moron. Then the crime is filing a false police report, and not perjury. Perjury is explicitly lying under oath. I'm not saying he's innocent, I'm just saying "perjury" is not the right word here.

They probably used the wrong term unless South Africa has that much different of a system, which i doubt because it should be based on British Common Law. I'm tired and just went through a 2 hour properties class. Wasn't all into reading.
