I enjoy the books about a Private Detective named Charlie Parker written by author John Connolly. The books are really dark. The Coen Brothers could make movies based on these books. I love them. The series in order: Every Dead Thing Dark Hollow The Killing Kind The White Road The Black Angel Th Unquiet Also there is a short story featured in 'Nocturnes' that features Parker. Also not part of the series but Parker makes a cameo (Or a Pageo if you will) in the great book 'Bad Men'. And I hear there is new book coming out this year.

Vampire$ is a f***ing great book, It would become subpar but entertaining movie called John Carpenters Vampires, book is totally different...
I just read I am Legend it was great not one similarity to the movie, a good thing IMO.
Harry Potter is always good, LOTR, and 30 days of night is now a novel series (based on Graphic novels)

As it stands right now...
The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt. Mao: The Untold Story by Jon Halliday and Jung Chang Analects of Confucius (just for his "correct the names" line) To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee The Sickness Unto Death by Anti-Climacus (Soren Kierkegaard) Epistle to the Romans by Karl Barth Macbeth and Othello both by William Shakespeare The Screwtape Letters, The Abolition of Man, and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis Animal Farm by George Orwell Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith And I suppose I better mention The Bible by... a whole ton of people.
I have a copy of The Brothers Karamazov since I've been meaning to get into Dostoevsky. And Romance of the Three Kingdoms shall remain endlessly on my reading list as I don't know when I will be able to finish it. Once that's done onto Outlaws of the Marsh!
Also, I purchased a book entitled The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss based on laudable reviews. Can anyone tell me if it's actually any good?
