and about pulling the couch back, Its pretty far back already actually. If its pulled back any farther it would be harder to see the tv (50 inch dlp)..and since im cheap and only have wired 360 controllers they wont reach any farther than where the couch is right now.

I tried asking about painting them and then before I move out painting them back, but I got a big fat NO... I wanted to paint them a dark red, that would be badass And to the poster who said something about missing a big plant.. haha looks like great minds think alike because I have this is one corner of the living room Dang, missed that one. I think your living room is complete.

Now, keep in mind that I'm a 23-year-old male who is about to move cross-country via train with two duffel bags and a backpack. That being said, you're room isn't horrible.
I agree about the posters. Especially the specific posters you have. If they were vintage/art cinema, then you could pull it off without looking dorm roomy. But the specific movies are so bland and generic that they convey blandness about both the room and you. Consider finding some art prints, 24"x36" but on better stock than posters. Frame those. Consider moving the plant closer to the TV so that the Big Colorful Thing has something with which to contrast.
Some things, like the couch in mid-room, can't be avoided, probably. But not having the couch there would open up the space and make it seem bigger. If people who call the room bland are sitting on said couch, then they are commenting on an artificially enclosed space.
Anal-retentive attention to detail and organization. What can I say?

the problem with the room is is that its shaped like a rectangle.....there really is no other place to put the couch. I could move it all the way to the other side of the wall, but then it would be about impossible to see the tv. I do like the idea of getting some framed artwork! I just chose the posters because they were free and the frames were like 12 bucks a piece at Wally World. Im never really home and most of the time it is jsut me here, so Im not really into spending lots of money to impress people whom wont see the living room that much.
