Relax takes out the first of 2 Round 2 songs dealing with ol' Eddie. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Who can deny the power of Foreigner? Corey maybe? Corey Hart - I Wear My Sunglasses at Night"Sunglasses at Night" is a song recorded by Corey Hart. It was the first single to be released off his debut album, 1984's First Offense. The song is considered by some to be a classic of 1980s New Romantic music, combining synthesizer pop, obscure lyrics and an almost Gothic ambiance in a hypnotic epic. The original version of "Sunglasses at Night" was about a totalitarian society that made everyone wear their sunglasses at night; however under pressure from Hart's record company to make something more marketable, the song was altered to be more "romantic". The video, however, reflects the original vision of a police state Vs. Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is"I Want to Know What Love Is" is a power ballad recorded by the British-American rock band Foreigner. The song hit #1 in both the UK and the U.S. and is their most successful single. It remains, alongside "Urgent" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You", one of the band's best known songs. Written by Mick Jones and produced by him and Alex Sadkin, it was the first single released from the album Agent Provocateur (1984). The song features backing vocals from the New Jersey Mass Choir (of the GMWA), Dreamgirls star Jennifer Holliday, and the Thompson Twins. The choir appears in the song's music video. "I Want to Know What Love Is" reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on January 13, 1985, and stayed there for three weeks. It reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on February 2, 1985, where it stayed for two weeks. It was Foreigner's first and only Pop chart-topper in either country, although the band had four #1 Mainstream Rock and one #1 Adult Contemporary radio hits in the U.S. Soon after Foreigner's single topped the charts, the New Jersey Mass Choir released its own, similar-sounding version of the song, on an album also titled I Want to Know What Love Is. Their single peaked at #37. In 2004 "I Want to Know What Love Is" was voted #476 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. In 2006 this song was included on VH1's program "Top 100 Songs of the 80's".

In a close one, Corey wins by 1 vote! I wonder if he can see aliens with those things.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cars or Houses. Which do you feel safest in!? Gary Numan - Cars"Cars" is based on two musical sections: a verse/instrumental break, and a bridge. The recording features a conventional rock rhythm section of bass guitar and drums, although the rest of the instruments used are analog synthesizers, principally the Minimoog (augmenting the song's recognisable bass riff) and the Polymoog Keyboard, providing austere synthetic string lines over the bass riff. The bridge section also includes a tambourine part. Numan's vocal part is sung in an almost expressionless, robotic style. There is no 'chorus' as such. According to Numan, the song's lyrics were inspired by an incident of road rage: "I was in traffic in London once and had a problem with some people in front. They tried to beat me up and get me out of the car. I locked the doors and eventually drove up on the pavement and got away from them. It's kind of to do with that. It explains how you can feel safe inside a car in the modern world... When you're in it, your whole mentality is different... It's like your own little personal empire with four wheels on it." Vs. Madness - Our HouseThe video depicts the band acting out the song's lyrics in an old mews. The song's lyrics mostly describe the daily activities in the house, with some of the band portraying the "family." The video cuts between scenes of the "family", the band playing in a living room, and exterior shots of various other houses.
