Bucket List and Juno both look like better movies though, IMO.

Bucket List and Juno both look like better movies though, IMO. They do but they are already out. I at least want Rambo to make more than Meet the Spartans.

What are you talking about,
How She Move?! Untraceable!?!? MEAT THE SPARTINS!?!?!?
This is the greatest movie weekend ever!!!!!
But in seriousness the buzz from Cloverfield may be enough to keep it at No. 1

Cloverfield's either going to do really well or flop this weekend. The word of mouth is really mixed on the film, so it could go boom or bust. I have to think anyone who was hyped up to see it has already gone, so it might lose a big chunk this weekend. Rambo may take it, but you never know....
Though it may just be the case we all see the first sign of the apocalypse to come and watch Meet the Spartans take the weekend......

If Meet the Spartans wins, THE WORLD RIOTS!!!!!
I hope Epic Fail 2 doesn't even eclipse it's budget so that the writers never get to do anything again

There are plenty of good movies coming out, however, they are almost all expansions of Oscar noms.
As for Rambo, I hope it does well just to prove the "hur hur! Stallone needs to retire" crowd wrong.

I'm going to see Rambo, but let me say this, without getting political. I think it's f***ed up that we're worried about a recession, yet we are setting box office records

I think it's smurfed up that we're worried about a recession, yet we are setting box office records The Great Depression was the highest point in Hollywood's grosses. They never recovered their old influence after the war (advent of TV + wide prosperity). People need something to take their mind off their unhappiness. Its a big part of why the Web is popular in the first place.

If Rambo isn't the number 1 movie this weekend....
Stallone won't be able to afford living in the old folk's home for another year. Hopefully the cutting edge Rascal scooter chase through the jungle scene makes the movie.

I would bet strongly on Meet The Spartans being number one in the box office, or just under Rambo. If you always underestimate the intelligence of your average American, you WILL make money.

I resurrected a thread just to point out that I was right! I have ESPN or something, or however the lame joke goes.
