so I got a question and maybe you guys can help. My xbox 360 just died...My buddy was playing it while i was at work and I guess he left it on pause and when I got home all i saw was a black screen with white dots. I call Microsoft and I kid you not my warrant was set to expire on the 4th of this month! So they are sending me a box to send my Xbox to them.... The problem is, is that its going to take upwards to a month for me to get my 360 back. So i developed a plan
I have thought about being a little bastards and buying a new 360 and just using that and putting me old one in the box and returning it, but Im pretty sure they check serial numbers so i dont think I will try that.
Im thinking about purchasing a new one and just using it for the month or so I dont have my old 360. Walmart return policy on opened video game systems os 14 days, but the only thing I would open it the 360 console itself. I wouldnt open the controllers because I already have some and wouldnt even touch anything else. Do you think that would work? I called Walmart and said I had an unopened 360 and they told me if its unopened I should have no problem returning it...
The only thing I would use from the newe system is the console itself. I would use it for 4-5 weeks until i get my new one, and then when I get my original 360 back, i put the new one back into the box and close everything....
So will this work or am I just going to be wasting 400+ dollars on a new 360 that they wont take back?

Probably work, though karmically it might not be the best of plans.

lol.....i mean the only thing that would be opened up is the console itself, and im pretty sure its just a small piece of tape that keeps it in their. I just dont want to be stuck with two xbox 360's and wasting money!!!
Also, I wonder what the EXACT time is that a unopened xbox 360 can be returned!

they have a serial number on the console and on the box that they can check...but Wal-Mart rarely checks

i wouldnt be returning the old xbox. The one i would return is the one im planning on purchasing. The serial # and everything would be the exact same...I would just basically be buying it for 4- 5 weeks until my originaly 360 gets sent back to me. Once i receive that I put the new console back in the plastic shit, tape it and return it....I think it would appear as unopened

Isn't there some place where you can maybe rent the system?

Okay then. Well if something goes wrong and you can't return it, you can always trade it in for store credit.

true, i plan on putting it on my wally world card.. which i kind of went a lil crazy on after getting it just for the sole reaosn of buying an hdtv with 1 yr no financing... I racked up over 2500 dollars on it..... but i get it down to about 900 now.....so the whole returning it for store credit would suck

even if you can't get cash back, they will give you a gift card good for the exact amount of your purchase
