Long story short: My head is pretty messed up. I feel like I need to meet some new people, outside my normal friend circle.
Today on Myspace, a girl that I'm friends with posted a bulletin about how this Saturday she's going out for dinner and drinks for her birthday, and invited anybody to come. She and I haven't spoken in a couple years, not because of a falling out or anything, just because we were friends from work who never really talked all that much. I'm thinking about writing her a message, basically saying "Hey, I saw your bulletin, and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me coming out and saying happy birthday on Saturday."
Is that stupid? Or creepy? Honestly, I can't tell anymore. I just need the opinions of complete strangers to help me formulate a gameplan, and there's no complete strangers that I trust more then you guys.

It sounds okay to me. I would go for it man. It doesn't come off as too creepy in my opinion.

It's cool, go for it.
Besides, should she say no for whatever reason, you guys weren't talking anyway. No risk situation with a chance for a rewarding night and a chance to meet people, like you want to.

Cross your fingers, gentleman. I just sent it. I added the line "I'll even buy you a drink, if that'll help convince you. But only one with a tiny umbrella."
I'm such a charmer...

There's a double entendre here about "charming the snake" to be made, but I've got a cold, so you guys all play amongst yourselves.

Dude, just go. Bring some friends, so you don't feel out of place. By her a shot, and let the good times roll.
